Golf Simulator- On The Cheap
Believe it or not Christmas is just around the corner and I'm going to give you a headstart on the shopping. While flying to Florida this morning (to play golf, suckers!) I was flipping through SkyMall and found this item. It's a golf simulator that plays through your computer or tv that allows you to swing your own clubs. It's not quite as extravagant as the full simulators you see on TV or in golf shops, but this only costs $250!
The Most Advanced Golf Simulator
This is the most advanced golf simulator that allows you to play over 800 courses--more than any other golf simulator available. The plug-and-play game can be played with any club in your golf bag and it allows you to swing with the same tempo and force as you would on an actual course.
The turf has a regulation golf ball mounted on a flexible tether which allows the ball to spin when it is struck, resulting in the same feel and ping sound that is produced on a golf course. The turf has embedded optical sensors that measure clubhead speed, launch angle, swing path, and ball spin thousands of times every second, calculating the distance and trajectory of the ball, while the included EA Sports Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2006 software visually renders your shots on your PCs monitor as you negotiate faithful reproductions of world-renowned golf courses such as Pebble Beach, TPC at Sawgrass, and St. Andrews.
With each shot the advanced hardware and software confirm if youve hit a hook, fade, draw, or slice.
Includes 8' USB cable; your computer requires video outputs and appropriate cable for playback on a TV. Compatible with Windows XP/2000/ME/98.

It's actually called the Golf Launchpad... it's made by Electric~Spin. I got mine at Target and it really is a lot of fun!!
Is it any good? Fun is important- but how does it work for actual game improvement.
It's great. It's got a swing analyzer and the fact that I don't have to take the entire winter off has really helped my game...
