Longest Drive Ever... (update)
By Kickntrue on 11/28/06
You may recall our link on November 17th (here) about Russian cosmonaut Mikhail Tyurin hitting a golf ball from space into orbit. Well- the feat has happened- and here are the results. Check out the story here.
Though the shot got initially delayed due to space conditions, Tyurin eventually made the swing 77 minutes late. He took some time to address the ball and get situated while trying to stay right side up in zero gravity. While Tyurin claims his shot will go billions of miles, NASA experts have predicted that the shot will stop ordering in a couple days, meaning the shot will only travel one MILLION miles.
Either way- this should be the longest shot in history. Not even Tiger's new Nike Driver will top this.
