Chinese Golf Wrap-up... for now.
By Kickntrue on 11/29/06
We wrote stories here and here, about golf and its growing impact in China and Chinese culture. I wanted to post one last article from a Chinese newspaper to wrap the whole idea up. I thought it was good. Read it here.
The idea is that as long as golf is an elitist sport as opposed to a game of the people, it will always have opponents. The real nitty gritty of the matter is that golf is much more expensive in China, because of the limited resources. Even a not so great course costs around $100 (US) to play on a weekday. Weekends become extremely unaffordable.
We don't want to beat a dead horse with these stories- but it's very interesting to me.
Read it here.
