After seeing gas prices soar to over $4 a gallon, many Americans have searched high and low for a solution. The people of Loveland, Colorado feel they might have come up with that much needed solution. The NEV, (neighborhood electric vehicle) is what they are pushing local law enforcement to legalize for street use. The NEV is pretty much a fully loaded golf cart made for everyday use on roads and through the community.
Check out the link here.
Another solution (also from Colorado) comes from El Paso County, where they realized that skyrocketing gas prices would no longer allow them to send out police patrol cars daily. So the police department decided to purchase a few golf carts. Now the local law enforcement makes their traffic stops from a fleet of golf carts. They also upped the number of foot patrols daily. Let's be honest with ourselves though, who is really going to stop for a golf cart?

Do they really need to declare a golf cart street legal to drive around in neighborhoods? Our government is out of control if that's the case.
I am sure it took 9 council meetings to make that declaration. How many more meetings until I can send my kid to the store in a golfcart to buy my cigarettes and whiskey?
