Sock Length Causes Club Civil War
By Kickntrue on 7/13/08
Leave it to a traditional English golf club to have rules against sock length. Hosiery is actually a hotly debated topic currently at the Frinton Golf Club in Essex. Currently club rules say that if you wear shorts you must wear knee high socks. The thing is- well, that should be obvious right? Who wants to wear knee high socks in the summer?
Because a number of the junior golfers are complaining they decided to revisit the issue and the club is tangled in a tumultuous civil war. The 600 club members are split on the issue and they don't know what to do, but for now the rule is changed; shorts are allowed.
Wow! How riveting the Brits keep the golf news. Next week they'll be talking about allowing metal-woods.
