Lightning Strikes In Arizona

Two golfers were struck by lightning on Tuesday afternoon while sitting in a golf cart at the Aspen Valley Golf Course. After lightning hit a tree on the course it jumped to the men in their nearby golf cart and finally escaped through an adjacent pipe. One man was trapped under the top portion of the tree that fell after being struck, but was rescued by firefighters and a local man who brought out his chainsaw. Both men were rushed to the local hospital where one was in critical condition and the other was reportedly in good condition.

Apparently the golf course had a lightning warning system that sounds an alarm if there is lightning in the area. It is still unknown if the alarm was switched on at the time of the incident. However, thirty minutes after the incident the system did send out the 'all clear' signal to golfers. Makes you wonder who's in charge of turning the system on every morning.
