"I Don't Do Men With Breasts."

In many ways life is easy for Colin Montgomerie. That said- the man is sometimes a glorified punching bag.
Scottish painter Jack Vettriano claims that he was invited to produce a portrait for the National Galleries of Scotland but refused the commission when he learned that his subject would be Monty.

"I don't do men with breasts," he said.

Vettriano, who regularly complains that his work is not appreciated by the art establishment, made the claim while giving a speech at a college near St. Andrews earlier this week. The painter said he was told by his dealer that the National Galleries wanted him to produce a portrait, but his initial interest evaporated when told his subject would be the ill-tempered, top-heavy Ryder Cup legend.

"I'm afraid the answer is no," Vettriano claims to have responded. "I don't do men with breasts. And I don't mean that as unkind to Colin Montgomerie."
That last line is brilliant. I can't even come up with a good comparison (that won't get me in trouble).

I Don't Do Men With Breasts.

The pic is inappropriate in relation to Montgomerie. I wouldn't want to look at that body either, let alone paint it.
Sorry, Mr. Vettriano. Not all of us are Adonis. Choose your subjects any way you wish. Just don't be ignorant about it. And if the price was right, he'd paint a pile of dog sh*t.

Here is part of an article I found re: Mony's response to this claim.

Jack who?

IT IS a bizarre war of words, even by the standards of two of Scotland's most outspoken personalities.

Colin Montgomerie may have been wounded by the personal attacks unleashed on him by artist Jack Vettriano.

But if he was, he certainly is not letting on. In fact, he is denying any knowledge of the top-selling painter.

Guy Kinnings, Monty's agent said: "Colin just laughed about it. He doesn't know who the guy is but he was surprised by what he said. He does tend to laugh at these things. He is more interested in focusing on his golf."

Gallery chiefs insist no official approach was ever made over a Montgomerie portrait.

"It seems a very rude thing for him to have said about someone he doesn't know and about someone who is such a popular ambassador for Scotland."

Montgomerie got his Mrs. Doubtfire label honestly.
