Mystery Bag Check In
By Kickntrue on 12/14/08
What did you get? Happy? Sad? Towel doesn't match your bag? Let us know what you got and what you think!

Send us pictures of you wearing the gear for extra credit.

Here's a look at some of the things that were in the bigger bags. We'd like to thank all of the great companies who donated to the bags and we look forward to an even better showing with bigger and better prizes next time. Please take the time to visit our sponsor sites and if you see something you want for Christmas but didn't win- treat yourself to it!

TaylorMade/Adidas- Some great items were sponsored by TaylorMade/Adidas including an Itsy Bitsy Spider putter (valued at $230), a Rossa Core Classic Lambeau Putter ($120) and a Rossa Core Classic Suzuka Putter ($120). TaylorMade also gave away 12 Burner TP Balls ($25), 12 TP Black Golf Balls ($40) and an Adidas ClimaProof Storm 3-Way Convertible Jacket ($275). Please visit TaylorMadeGolf.com for more details on any equipment they have to offer!

EIDOLON Golf- Our Resident Wedge Guy Terry Koehler of EIDOLON Golf was awesome enough to provide a couple wedges for a few lucky winners. Two individuals received one EIDOLON wedge ($120) while one lucky oober received a set of 3 EIDOLON wedges ($340). We continue to have a special deal with EIDOLON through oobgolf that allows for a discount on top of EIDLON's already awesome guarantee where they dare you to try their wedges. If you're not satisfied they'll ship yours back and buy you any comparable wedge on the market. Please visit here for more details on EIDOLON Golf and their special deal through oobgolf.com!

AlmostGolf- Earlier this year we reviewed AlmostGolf Practice Balls. We thought they were such a great practice ball we reached out to the company when we decided to run the Mystery Bag program. They were kind of enough to send out 24 packs of 10 ($10). They provide a unique value to your golf game off the course. I also know AlmostGolf is big on "urban golf" and using their soft practice balls in unique places you normally wouldn't golf. Please visit AlmostGolf.com for more details on the practice balls and their unique way to practice and event invent a new sport within golf!

Tee Time Golf Pass- If you live in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Ohio or Virginia you should have a Tee Time Golf Pass. Now at least two more of you do ($55). Use the book to save between $10-$40 every time you tee it up at over 450 courses throughout the northeast. In a lot of cases you will pay for the value of the book in just 2 or 3 rounds. Get your 2009 pass at TeeTimeGolfPass.com.

Chip Chic Golf- We first noticed Chip Chic Golf back in October. This Canadian company combines golf and fashion with their own unique approach to golf accessories including shoe bags and an awesome lawn clutch. Chip Chic provided 3 shoe bags ($75) including a new design not even available yet. While a little more feminine than some of our other prizes it's hard to deny the touch of class the Chip Chic bags brought the to the Mystery Bags. Learn more about the creative Canadian company (sorry- couldn't avoid the alliteration) at ChipChicGolf.com. If nothing else visit because Canandians are awesome and the site features almost naked ladies holding artificial turf bags over their bodies.

A Special Thank You is also due to Rocky Spring Golf Course, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. John McDowell who runs the course was awesome enough to provide us a resource to buy gear for the Mystery Bags at cost. John also donated a couple items from his pro shop to the cause including a Callaway Golf Watch valued at over $100. Quite frankly, Rocky Spring GC is never going to be confused with Bethpage Black, but if you're ever in south central Pennsylvania and in the mood for a cheap round of golf stop by and give John a shout.

Other items received in Mystery Bags (but not necessarily sponsored) included: Callaway Golf Watches ($100-$130), G.R.I.P wedges ($100), Tour Tempo ($100), Nike Backpack ($75), Nike Sunday Bag ($50), Mizuno Golf Gloves ($18) and TopFlite Gamer Balls ($30).

I haven't received either of my bags yet. However, let me voice my displeasure that Flair Hair was not included in this promotion. Had I known this prior, I may have only ordered 1 bag.

I just this minute received all 3 of my bags. Got a oobgolf tshirt (be sporting that once it gets warmer), an oobgolf towel and tees (to be added to the 4 towels I already have hanging from my bag), and an oobgolf hat and tees (conotemplating giving this one away as I just got a white fitted PING G10 hat to match my driver). Thanks oobgolf. Love the site.

I think the next one should be around my birthday... mid February *hint hint nudge nudge wink wink*

Got a White oob golf hat and zero friction tee's. Will not use either of them. A white hat?? Are you kidding?? I don't like these tee's either because after a few holes the ball has a hard time staying on them. But oh well. Better luck next time.
12/16/08

sindigo says:
shoot...send me your tees. I love those things. Sure, putting the ball on the tee may be a bit of a sobriety test but that's ok. :-) And what's wrong with a white hat?

I got a sleeve of Gamers, 5 cool tees, an Oobgolf hat, a bottle opener/divot tool, and a swing tempo aid. I'm happy with my swag. THANKS!!!

I got home from work, feeling like a kid coming downstairs on Christmas morning! Burst through the door and what awaited me? Two lovely packages, one long slender triangle containing three Eidolon wedges! 52, 56, 60, drool, oh, I think one of the packers was sampling the goods, there's a couple of gently used scuff marks on the face of the 56! ha, not that I'm complaining too much. The other bag, had a sklz therma grip, gorilla gold grip enhancer, a sleeve of my favorite gamer balls and some tees! Thanks guys!! You totally made my Christmas. Oh, who did you use to get your logo on the golf balls?

Just think of the "Gross Profit Projection" if this was held twice a year? Hell Quartely? Monthly?
I can see it now.... especially in a down economy, venders would be creaming themselves to get product in the hands of consumers, and not having to pay for advertising.....Get on it, boys!

I love t-shirts and have a pretty nice collection. The olive green t-shirt may not be as cool as a wedge, but I am very pleased. I will wear it with pride (once it isn't under 0 degrees outside).

owenhyne says:
I ordered three bags: 2 hats and 1 t-shirt. Thanks a ton oob! By the way, I think that the mystery bags were a pretty good value for only $10. I'll do this again next year!
