Sergio, You're Dead To Me
By Kickntrue on 4/13/09
Thanks a lot Sergio. Now I have to BUY an R9 Driver? ... and then YOU whine about it? I love how it's followed about my Padraig... humble in defeat.

I tried for a weekend, and it was hard. Thankfully, I can go back to rooting against Sergio! Maybe I'm the real winner after all.

Confused?

100% cry baby. I used to like Sergio, but now if he can't win its cry, cry ,cry.
He will neve be the same after AK busted him in the Ryder Cup. LOL Sergio should stay on the other side of the big pond.

The best part is that they were well aware that there was going to be no money lost on him....

Good luck trying to win the Masters after saying you "don't like" the course.

But that's typical Sergio....cant believe that 2 weeks ago many of you thought he would be No. 1. I'd sure like to hear from those guys again. Sergio...just play on the European Tour.

On another note, the guys over at Devil Ball Golf have just figured out what the "Vr" on Tiger's hat stands for.....LOL (better late than never I guess)

101 you are correct about AK, I loved it when Sergio looked at him for the gimme and AK just turned and walked off. Sergio then missed the short putt, great strategy. Just goes back to what I've always said "There's no such thing as a gimme"

What a little baby. Sergio doesn't ever deserve to play the Masters again.

Harrington...now he is a class act.

badgolfergreg says:
Tsk, tsk, tsk...poor Sergio. Well, at least he didn't let us down and act with some class! He maintains the title of the Tour's biggest whiner! LOL!

The funny part is, it's gonna take a long time, if ever, to live this down. Wait till he gets to Bethpage, he thinks he got heckled last time, it'll be even worse this year. He's going to wind up being the next Colin Montgomerie. No majors.

golfgirl says:
Come on guys. That was just Sergio being Sergio. And if he didn't exist we'd have to invent him ...for exactly this reason. Who would everyone hate on if there wasn't a Sergio? I like Padraig Harrington, he's an awesome player and a really nice person, but I don't want everyone to be like Padraig Harrington. Sergio says exactly what he's thinking at the moment that's just the way he is. And yes he's going to get heckeled at Beth Page. He'll have to deal with that. But as far as living it down, this game has a short memory. All he'd have to do is win again and smile a lot and he'd be the darling of the golf media. Tell me I'm wrong on that.

golfgirl, the point isn't that ppl don't like him "telling the truth" the point is hes a little baby excuse making whining brat. Everyone knows Augusta National was perfect this week. It played relatively easy, is always in perfect shape, and is a great test of golf. Basically Sergio is just a liar. Give me a break Sergio, just cuz you can't putt, that doesn't mean they tricked out the course. I saw plenty of guys make putts this week. SHUTUP SERGIO!

ToddRobb says:
golfgirl, I don't have a problem with Sergio telling the truth, but that's not what he did. What he did was complain about something that no golfer in their right mind would complain about. Did you hear ANY other golfer say one bad word about the course? Some of the U.S. Opens in the past have had the whole field complaining about one thing or another, this certainly was not the case this weekend. Before I heard about this incident I wasn't a Sergio fan, but I did think he had enough talent( if he fixed his putting) to win a major. Now I think he's a whining little bitch that needs to get sports psychology help. The game has a memory of an elephant, ask Greg Norman, Thursday and Friday they showed all his famous collapses at Augusta. Colin Montgomerie got heckled for decades after making a stupid comment about the United States.
We just found out that Fuzzy Zoeller still to this day is haunted by his stupid remarks he made about Tiger 12 years ago.

Don't fool yourself into thinking since we can't hear what's being said on the course on television, that people have forgotten.

Of course he'll win more tournaments, but we can scratch him off the list for majors because there will always be an excuse. I think he's just dug his own major championship grave.

golfgirl says:
Guys, read my comment.

Did I say anything...anything at all... about Sergio "telling the truth". No. I simply said he is what he is. He's obviously not trying to please anyone or be diplomatic. That's not what he's about and lets face it, that's not want we really want him to be, is it? Any more than we want John Daly to be erudite and elegant. Let Padraig Harrington be polite and reserved and appropriately understated, and let Sergio whine. We need personalities in this game.

ToddRobb says:
Having personality is fine, but nobody likes a whiner. Especially if it's a totally idiotic excuse why you came in T38.

I'm surprised that everyone is surprised by Sergio. He definitely has a history and always will (remember spitting into the cup???). Attitude is everything and Sergio has that attitude that will always give him an excuse! I will ALWAYS root against players like Sergio and will ALWAYS root for players like Kenny Perry - total class and sportsmanship!

BTW golfgirl, if you truly KNEW golf, you would know it is spelled Bethpage!!! Can't wait to see how the New Yorkers heckle Sergio this time around!!!

helfon says:
I would have been fine if he said he didn't like the course and left it at that. It's an opinion and he is entitled to it. However, when she asked the follow-up and he responded that he didn't care what they did with it he just showed that his comment was just a childish reaction to sucking on the course vs. legit gripes.
4/14/09

golfgirl says:
Sorry I meant Bethpage, K?...I've played there by the way, Red not Black, and that was hard enough. Don't bother to ask my score pls.

Anyway, no one's going to change Sergio, and he'll just have to deal with the Hecklers. If he plays well, I maintain, much will be forgiven.

Heather Anderson J says:
Sergio will be Sergio, just as John Daly will be John Daly, and Tiger will be Tiger. Personally, I like it that way. Sure, Sergio sounded a bit whiny, but it I just shook my head and said, "Oh Sergio, there you go again." However, I laughed out loud when Sergio hit a beautiful drive at the Masters and the camera caught him saying, "Perfect! Absolutely perfect." It was a "perfect" drive and I got a kick out of hearing Sergio say it, just as much as I get a kick out of thinking about a John Daly comeback.

I enjoy the game more with a myriad of personalities rather than cloned players.

the golf god is not on Sergio side that why his ball have mud on it even he hits it in the fairway. After Carnousti I don't think Sergio will ever win a golf tournament again. With his attitude regard bad break he will never have a clear mind to play his best golf. Any bad putt which he has too many he will blame god or the golf course and carry negative thought to the next hole which will haunt him. If he want to win again he need to change his attitude and play on.

It is rather interesting to me that this "Dude" Snyper has the "Balls" to critcize Woods for his intensity and related comments and say nothing about the "low level comments" by this "Young Punk", from the "Have it now with no effort generation!!" I have never heard a comment from Woods like that. Any decent professional "takes his lumps" in a quiet manner and moves on!! Until this individual learns this lesson and improves his demeanor he will continue to be "The Nowhere Man From Nonsense Land!!" JWHpurist
