Oh, Canada... you're so pretty.
Meaningful Golf Still Being Played
By Kickntrue on 7/27/09
... In Canada. The RBC Canadian Open had a rainy weekend, but Round 3 was finished this morning and the final round is underway. Anthony Kim is near the top of the leaderboard along with a couple other along with a couple other big names like Retief Goosen. The leader (at the time of this post) is Michael Letzig, who... I've never heard of.

I actually really enjoy this event. Mike Weir always makes the headlines playing in his home country and while he's having a good weekend, he's probably not going to win, but it's still fun. The field is strong, though not a superfield (basically no Tiger). It's a pretty good event to watch, especially since the time between the British and PGA Championship is pretty dead.

You can follow along the live leaderboard or using PGATour.com's awesome "Shot Tracker."

Following on Shot Tracker... Goosen is alone in front at -17. Kim has dropped to T3 with a +1 round 4 thus far.

The Canadian Open. the original 5th major. i don't understand how one of the longest running golf tournaments can lose so much prestige. this weeks winner will have their name etched onto the trophy with people like Walter Hagen, Sam Snead, Byron Nelson, Arnold Palmer and Tiger Woods. is it because Jack never won it? is it because Tiger doesn't play it anymore? i don't get it.

There is talk about moving the tournament to give it a better spot in the season. It seems like alot of the "big names" take the week after the British off. Here si an interview with Tim Finchem with a little bit of info... www.pgatour.com/2009/tournaments/r032/07/22/wedn

Looks like the Goose could move into the top 5 in the Fedex Cup with a win.

Could still be a pretty exciting finish with par 5 to close.

Looks like we're heading for a playoff unless Green can chip in.

LMAO at that Ace. I think an assist should be awarded and maybe access to the BMW for 6 weeks of the year for leaving that ball in the right place on the green.

Looks like an Australian and a South African playing for Canada's Championship.
