The Best Par You've (n)Ever Seen

Major Championship. One of the best players in the world. Critical moment. How have we never heard of this feat? In the 2002 US Open at Bethpage Black, Phil Mickelson found himself in a precarious position. In the 3rd round on the 13th, a par 5, Mickelson hit a good tee shot and followed it with what he thought was a good 4 wood that he pushed a bit left. Still he thought he'd have a 40 yard pitch and then a chance for birdie. What he didn't know- was that the ball took an odd bounce and caught some pavement- rolling down a hill and putting his ball 187 yards from the hole.
Dave Pelz on his blog, tells the rest of the story. Basically proves that with no television access- you are left blind to some of the coolest stories.
Best Par Ever?

I couldn't hit that shot.
@bake- there is only 1 person in the world who could. and he did.
It's no wonder he tries some of the stuff he does. He gets away with a lot of it.
thats why we watch him!
funniest part of that blog to me is the last line......great shot though
