Ogilvy Repeats As SBS Champion
By Kickntrue on 1/11/10
Real golf that counts towards 2010! Finally! Not "finally" in the sense that it's been so long since we've had meaningful golf, but more the "finally" of now we can start talking about something real in the golf world.
At any rate, Aussie Geoff Ogilvy won the SBS Championship in Hawaii for the 2nd time in as many years. The only other person to win this event back to back since moving to the Plantation Course at Kapalua is another Aussie, Stewart Stuart Appleby. Coincidence or do Aussies rule the Hawaiian landscape?
"We knew what we had to do," Ogilvy said. "I'd never been in that situation. I'm happy and excited to get it done. I needed to make birdies and I did."I really like Geoff Ogilvy. Last year when he won- I got on a PGA Tour media conference call with Geoff and asked him a couple questions. Nice guy to take the time for a nobody like me. I'd love to see him turn it on for an entire season. His game seems to turn on and off at random times throughout the season. The good news for Geoff- January is 11 days old, and he already has a 1099 coming in 2010 for at least $1,120,000, his winner's check.
This economy sucks! He so should have made $1,500,000 for those 4 days of work.

Congrads Geoff!!! I didn't watch any of the tourney, but I was rooting for Geoff, when I saw he was in the mix Friday.
I'm a big fan of Geoff. No one hits a 3-iron like him. So glad to see him get it done again!!!
Geoff played very well on Sunday and Glover didnt so thats that.
It was nice to watch golf that wasn't reruns of the last 10 years. Looking forward to the Sony Open next weekend.

Congrats Geoff. I may have to change my clubs out for Titleist now. I'm playing Cobra's because of him.
