HERE WE GO!

I've decided all golf should be in primetime! Seriously, how great is this?!

I really don't have anything to add to what you can already find- but wow! I freaking loved yesterday's action and today promises to be amazing. I hope Tiger and Phil both get off to hot starts and that Johnson comes back to the field a bit. I'm not really routing for an 18 hole Monday playoff- because it makes things tougher to watch- but if someone wanted to sink an eagle putt on 18 (with the tees moved up) to win it- that'd be okay with me!

I'm not in love with Tiger Woods these days either- but what he did yesterday was great for him, and great for golf! I'd be lying if I said I didn't care what he does today. Frankly, I hope he shoots a 64 and smokes the field.

Either way- tomorrow's discussion should be fun. Thanks for the continued support and tomorrow we have 2 big giveaway announcements so we'll see you then!

Yesterday's round was definatly amazing. I hope we see some low scores the rest of the day. I was really hoping to see the Pebble of television- high winds and the water crashing off the rocks behind 7- all the stuff that makes for great TV. I was happy to see Tiger shoot what he did, but I'm starting to get sick of seeing his face. I hope he makes a run, but then chokes or gets beat. That eagle on the last hole would be great for sure!

The primetime coverage is fantastic. What is better than golf until 10PM EST on a championship Sunday? Nothing. Now, if they just make a permanent change from Johnny Miller to Nick Faldo. Johnny Miller is to golf as what Joe Buck is to baseball...horrible.

I tried to catch some of the Open on TV. Not available in our area. Finally at the conclusion of the tournament, The Golf Channel comes on with an announcement that G.McDowell wins and then goes into an interview with Tiger for a full 5 minutes. Then they show every shot he made for the first seven holes. Then we listened to Frank Nobilo spout about Tiger for another five minutes.WTF. How about talking to the guy who WON THE DAMN THING? or show some of his shots?

I prefer golf in the morning. I love watching The Open in the morning on the East coast.

One question i have out of all the days of playing --- What in god's name made Phil hit his shot off those cables??? It looked to be a great area to drop.

I agree 100% that golf is great on prime time. I also agree that I am sick of Tiger, Tiger, Tiger. I can't stand it when he gets attention when he doesn't do well, gets attention when he does well and gets more attention than the winner. For crying out loud, it was the first time EVER that someone from Northern Ireland won the dang thing, not to mention 2nd was from France and 3rd was from South Africa.

Another point that I don't know how many people notice, but the Golf Channel is obsessed wtih Tiger. They had a dedicated channel to follow him. On their iPhone app, they show the Nike symbol next to all of the Nike sponsored players, but no other symbols. Maybe they are obsessed with Nike, who knows, but I don't like it. I know there is mareketing at play here, but really, should a channel dedicated to Golf, be dedicated so heavily to one player and/or brand?

BirdieXris I questioned that shot as well. The only thing I can think of is that he felt that by dropping he would risk a bad lie. I heard the commentator say that he did it because he could hit it very cleanly sitting on the cables.

I guess I was surfing too quickly trying to find coverage I suppose every time I went to NBC there was a commercial or something. It's my fault.

Well they just might rename the sport Nike Tiger. Remember a few years back they had the golf in the desert where the final holes had stadium lighting? Maybe this might happen on the PGA tour where the courses get lighting all over the course. Also I like watching those tournaments in Hawaii after New Years. Oh and by the way Tiger hasn't been in 1 of them last few years. Apperently Tiger doesn't really like Hawaii golf courses. Also the NIKE thing i understand the anouncers aren't allowed to mention the equiptment the other players use. I bought a pair of NIKE golf shoes on sale and they are the worst shoes I've ever worn. NIKE SUCKS>
