And Now We Move On
By Kickntrue on 8/23/10
Tiger and Elin are divorced. Now that it is official we can officially move on. I know some people will always root against but I just can't do it. Horrible human or not- I want to see history and amazing things when I watch golf- and he can provide that. If anything- these last few months have as he's struggled have made me root more. He's almost pathetic enough to be liked.
The divorce was filed in Bay County Circuit Court in the Florida Panhandle. The couple had married in October 2004 in Barbados and have two children, 3 and 1.While the money and some of the things that go with it would be nice- I'm so glad I don't have the life of Tiger Woods- and not just post scandal. I guess what it really comes down to- is I can't honestly think he's any worse a man than anyone would be in his position- myself included. Elin got shafted- and Tiger should not be off the hook for that, but 9 months later- I hope people are able to take a step back, away from the anger, and realize the sadness of all of this.

I hate to see the family broken up, what a shame.
i like the golf terms thrown in there. "Elin got shafted", "Tiger should not be off the hook" that was my observational humor of the day. w/o insulting anyone.
I would be Tiger in a second. Rich as a King, best golfer ever. Done deal. No doubt he was an awful husband, But i hope he can be forgiven and not have an asterik next to his name in the record books as a "Cheater Manwhore."
Now let's see him sweep the playoffs.
@banker85- in sports, "cheater manwhore" is better than "cheater, steroid, hgh user." at least in terms of sporting legacy.
@Banker85... shouldn't it be "Adultering Manwhore"? Cheater should be reserved for A-Rod, Barry Bonds, Bill "Spygate" Belichick, et. al.
hey what if the last 6 months of horrible golf was just so he wouldn't have to give her half of his winnings and now he will get all his endorsements back and be back to kicking butt. I'm not really a Tiger fan but, what if?

dude is confused and has payed dearly.
An unfortunate instance of insufficient depth of character to resist the unusual vagaries of fame, wealth and privilege.
Personally don't care too much about him on the golf scene. There has been some great performances lately enough to kinda forget about TW altogether.

His personal struggles are sad. His family has really paid a handsome price for his mistakes. Here's up all's well that ends well.
boy they should leave the, "till death do us part" thing out now a days.
shame on anyone who pulls for this guy. he's tarnashed the game forever in so many ways.
I am amazed at the haters here and other websites. Do you all truly believe Tiger was the first high profile professional athlete (even golfer) that cheated on his wife??? He might have been the best known that got caught and was made public. Sorry - personal life is just that - personal. I will root for Tiger to continue what he has started - breaking all of the records!
Seriously snyper? Get a clue. Tarnished the game? Because he cheated on his wife he tarnished a game? That makes sense.
Indicted or cheater manwhore? Clemens...ehh could be both.
Don't care for the personal details, but I sure do hope he'll behave on the course from now on. No throwing clubs, load swearing and kicking around anymore, okay Tiger? Than let's play golf!
@SYNPER - tarnished the game? what "game" are you talking about bcoz it sure isnt golf.
I think the people who believe he can now promptly resume golf dominance have no clue about the difficulty of dealing with divorce issues. Yes, it was his fault and I don't excuse him for it. But anyone with young kids knows how emotionally deblilitating it is to watch them go through this process. I don't care what the press release says, I'm sure there will be continuing tension between him and Elin over issues affecting the kids. It's always this way. Eventually he will probably come to terms with a new life, but divorce is not a liberating event.

I think its hilarious how many people take a "Tiger Who?" approach, and act like golf is the same without him ... or will be ok without him. TW took golf on his shoulders in the late 1990's and made it what it is today. And how quickly peole forget how good he actually is ... I mean all the supposed "next Tiger's" have done what? Rose? Garcia? Rory? Dustin? Fowler? Scott? .... I mean his nearest best compeition is who? Phil? I mean don't get me wrong, Phil is an awesome player ... but TW is in the same conversation as Jack, Snead, Hogan ... I don't think I could make the argument that Phil is.
Tiger Who ? Just another spoiled overpaid flash in the pan. Made a few lucky shots. It's over.
What? No takers? I thought that would be like poking a bee's nest. Maybe it really is time to move on, like the headline of the article said.
