Is Tiger Using A Mallet?!
By Kickntrue on 9/29/10
It's a story when Tiger puts his Scotty Cameron putter on the shelf for a nearly identical model from a company paying him millions. But to switch to a mallet... WOW!

No word on if he'll use it in the Ryder Cup.

It appears to be the Nike Method 003.

Sweet, it's nice to see Tiger using the putter I have been using... Except now I can't blame the putter for all those missed puts!

If he adds some hybrids and switches out his blades for super game improvement cavity backs, then I'm quitting my job and heading to Q school.....

You can thank Pavin's wife Lisa for that crappy hat....and the worse Ryder Cup styling in at least 40 years. My goodness, they look like they just arrived from Nantucket!!!

This is the worst hat I've ever seen. With this hat, you get a free bowl of soup! Oh, it looks good on you though!!!

I think there is a picture of Tiger the next day and he was holding his Scotty. So no clue as what he will put into play on Friday.

I think at this point in his game, Tiger needs to pick something and stick with it. He's changing everything so much it's not even funny anymore. Swing, putter, ball, LIFE. I mean, if you're going to make a change - then do it intelligently and MAKE IT. Give it a few days or at LEAST a week to work, if it doesn't, then go back. As good as these guys are, while they have the ability to use whatever equipment they feel like, it still stands to reason that everything has it's quirks and differences. The ball will do things a little differently when you hit it that way, the putter will too, and the swing --- egad dont' get me started.

OK i'm done. And so is Tiger for that matter. Wow me, buddy, and maybe i'll give props.

oh yea.... and that IS an awful hat.

Scott Shields says:
Why not the Scotty fastback? Thats a solid putter. I wonder if there is some sort of contract provision that only allows for his orignal Scotty, and any subsequently new putters would have to be Nike.

I think he needs to go to the "Happy Gilmore" hockey stick putter.

he went to the original Method putter to negate the slower greens in Europe, but it was the same style as his Scotty, so it didn't make that much sense to me.

but switching to this model of the Method putter does make sense. if you want the ball to come off the face a little hotter, you want to have more mass behind it.

if it works, it will solidify that i'm going to make the right choice when i eventually buy that putter. i've been wanting that thing for forever!

If he decides to keep the mallet, do you think he'll grow a mullet to go along with it?

I don't like that you can't post greens in regulation on Oobgolf, I mean it's good that they automatically calculate it, but today I was putting for birdie on a par 4, I rammed it off the green, then I chipped in for par, when I entered my score in it said I missed the green and had one putt, but in reality I hit the green and had one putt. I've had that situation a few times before I was on Oobgolf. I want to count it as a green in regulation, but I can't. Any Thoughts?
