The good old days...
John Daly Played Better Drunk
By Kickntrue on 10/27/10
John Daly loves a little attention. I hope he also has a couple spare bucks around to pay a fine.
Signing copies of his book, "My Life In And Out Of The Rough," with a silver pen, Daly was asked what he's learned about himself through the years.

"That I was happy when I was a miserable drunk. I played better when I was drunk," he said.

Daly paused, smiled half a smile and gently shook his head.

"I don't know," he said.
It's hard to believe this is true, though the results don't argue his point. It's tough to fault the guy for being honest. Daly has basically spent the last two years trying to prove everyone wrong, that he isn't a complete mess. He's lost all his weight. He's quit drinking. He's dedicated his life to golf again... and what's he have to show for it? On the golf course at least- not much. Hopefully his off-course life is better, but he sure looks like a man absolutely beaten.

And for some reason... all I can do is keep rooting for him. That's the beauty of the Fall Series I suppose- he's one amazing weekend away from being back on the PGA Tour full time. Here's hoping he does.

You have to root for Daly, I don't think there is a person alive that doesn't recognize at least a little bit of themselves in him

i'm not much of a Daly fan. he seems to want to take the easy way out all the time. lose weight through a good diet and exercise, not through surgery, and work out a bit. get a good coach and go to q school again.
