We Haven't Seen The Last Of Lorena
By Kickntrue on 10/28/10
Lorena Ochoa may have stepped away from the LPGA Tour but she wants to remind you that she retired from that organization- not golf, and plans to play some events in 2011 "for fun."
"I will play some tournaments in the future. We want to start a family, my husband and I, (so) it depends on the timing. But I will play some tournaments for fun."I'm 100% in favor of seeing Ochoa back in action, even if in spurts. While it stinks a little for the fans, you really have to respect when an athlete is willing and able to walk away from the game while they're still in their prime- especially when it's for a high calling like family.
I'd hope she could come back and play well, though it probably wouldn't be the best for the LPGA Tour if she actually won. Doesn't exactly bode well for gaining sponsors when you need to tell them you'll try to convince their retired best player to make an appearance.

Lorena = classy person.
At the highest levels of golf, it appears to be hard to perform well as a part-time player. Perhaps Lorena has the ability to overcome this. However, my expectation is that she will discover she no longer is competitive with the regular tour players if she chooses to play events in the future.
Of course I never thought GM would declare bankruptcy or that a kid named Tiger Woods would win more than a handful of tournaments. Clearly my crystal ball's performance questionable.
Lorena is the most powerfull figure in women's golf. She can do what she wants, when she wants, the way she wants. She's a class act.
