Tiger Checks Out Twitter (UPDATE)
By Kickntrue on 11/17/10
Maybe Tiger Woods is human?! He's messing around with his Twitter account- and while there are only 2 "real tweets" they at least appear as if they could actually be him. The account is his for sure- it is verified by Twitter, but someone like Tiger could have a PR lackey running the show- but I'm not sure at this point why he would. If the success of Twitter with other athletes has shown anything it's that making them "human" instead of unreachable and unobtainable TV personalities is the single best thing it accomplishes. And pictures of drinking out of Ryder Cups!
It'll be interesting to see if Tiger keeps it up- or how personal it really becomes. So far he's done nothing but basically say "hello." The 5 people he actually follows are all corporations like Nike Golf and the Tiger Woods Foundation. I hope he does make it work. It'd be a lot of fun seeing some of his daily life. Plus- he should have some time on his hands for the next few months, right?!

UPDATE- Looks like Tiger is getting out there in general. he wrote a first-person piece for Newsweek which you can read HERE and will appear on Mike & Mike In The Morning tomorrow morning on ESPN Radio. You can say it's a PR Blitz (it is), but I like what I'm seeing. Positive steps!

this would make me follow twitter if he shows more of his everday normal side, who he really is...
I am following him - it will be interesting to see what he reveals. I like what Poulter, Zach, Bubba, Hunter Mahan put out there. Time will tell...
" Giving my son, Charlie, a bath, for example, beats chipping another bucket of balls. Making mac and cheese for him and his sister, Sam, is better than dining in any restaurant. Sharing a laugh watching cartoons or reading a book beats channel-surfing alone. Some nights now, it’s just me and the kids, an experience that’s both trying and rewarding. Probably like the experience a lot of families have every evening around the world." - Human

"Making mac and cheese for him and his sister, Sam, is better than dining in any restaurant."
Why does Tiger refer to Sam as "Charlie's sister" and not his daughter? I am not a dad, but I would think I'd refer to my daughter as "my daughter" and not my son's sister.
The best question in the Mike & Mike interview was when Tiger was asked if he had not been exposed, what lifestyle would he be living today? I think we all know the answer to that...
that kinda pulled on my heart strings. thanks TW i knew there was a beating heart in there. Even though the divorce sucks cause it broke up his family, i think this will make him a better Father. Human indeed.
