Expensive Putters
By Kickntrue on 11/19/10
GolfDigest.com has a fun list and photo gallery of the most expensive putters money can buy. If only I had $8500 extra sitting around...

The funny thing is that they chose to (rightfully) lead off the article with this fact:
In September, Jim Furyk won more than $11 million with a putter he paid $38 for. If only they were all that cheap.
You can putt with about anything, but confidence is everything, and what breeds confidence like a sexy looking flat stick?! (Please don't answer this in the comments, I'm afraid of what you may say.)

I'm personally not a big putter aficionado but I know you guys are out there. From my perspective, my lust is for slide #6, a TITLEIST SCOTTY CAMERON TOUR GOLD GOLF PUTTER. It could be mine for around $6500. A steal!

The website images are nothing like what the thing actually looks like.

I'm going to assume that $8,0000 and 6,5000 are typos and they really mean 8,000 and 6,500. I couldn't imagine paying 80,000 for a set of putters.

@Kurt - do they have the weights in the bottom and everything? if so that's a deal!!!

I have four putters right now (don't ask how that happened) and I can't decide which one I like best. Putting is probably one of the stronger parts of my game, and I probably putt the same with all of them, despite the fact that they're all different shapes and sizes

Kurt the Knife says:
@birdie
I can't tell if the "weights" are just casting details (yep its cast, not milled)
or if they're real.
really, its not a very good copy. When I was at golftec I held it up against a real Newport.
yuck.
I hate the fact it feels better than my Orlimar Tangent.

I play the same brand, Yes! Putters, but a different model (I play the Marilyn and he plays the Sophia). Most of the Yes! putters use the same face technology and I love mine. They are very reasonably priced (I think mine was around $120), especially compared to the Scotty Cameron's, et al.

I play Taylormade's Spider, but I've really fallen in love with their new white ghost line. The new Verza is beautiful, and all the Rossa Daytona and such are amazing.

I have tried a lot of putters and I have found my gamer. I use an Odyssey Black Series #3. It was expensive, to me $200.00, but well worth it.
