Another programming option.
Live Golf 7 Days A Week?
By Kickntrue on 12/14/10
There is a lot of competition for eyeballs on a weekend, but what if you could flip to Golf Channel any day of the week for live golf? The LPGA is reportedly trying to get out of their 10 year deal with Golf Channel but a new initiative by Comcast (Which bought NBC Universal and also owns Golf Channel) to emphasis live sports could bring about another change.
Sources say when the Comcast purchase of NBC Universal is completed -- expected soon -- the new Golf Channel will put more emphasis on live programming. One thought: have LPGA events end on Monday, the same day Nationwide tourneys could begin. That would give Golf Channel seven days of live tournament programming, and that would be pretty cool.I think I'd have to agree. At least it'd have a chance of getting viewed live, though if I'm the Nationwide Tour or LPGA I still wouldn't like my chances of mass viewing. There's just too much good stuff on all the time to watch a product that isn't overly compelling.
Consider it this way- I think we'd agree Major League Baseball is more of a national sport than golf but for the sake of this argument let's say the PGA Tour is equal to the MLB. That makes the Nationwide Tour the minor leagues and LPGA the softball they show on ESPN for a week a year to win the collegiate national champion. Is it reasonable to think that minor league baseball would ever get ratings, even if it was featured on ESPN 2x a week? Doubtful. And, THAT, is the problem with all of this... it's just not watchable.

I don't know about watching the LPGA but I'd watch whatever is on that television up there! /\ /\ /\ :)
@Zepo1a - Typed "golf tv" in Flickr... that came up. Figured, "fair enough." Hah.
I would watch it. I have wished for more LPGA in the past. Not so much nationwide. The reason being the competition between players and the course. I feel like i haven't seen a nationwide event that hasn't ended in like 20+ under par.
