Will Kaymer be #1 on Monday?
World's Top 3 To Play Together In Dubai
By Kickntrue on 2/9/11
When the Omega Dubai Desert Classic kicks off tomorrow it will be the first time in European Tour history where the top 3 players in the world played in the same group together. Actually, I'd be surprised if the PGA Tour could make the same claim.
In what is certain to be one of the most eagerly awaited three-balls in recent golfing history, the world’s top three players, Lee Westwood, Martin Kaymer and Tiger Woods will go head-to-head in the first two rounds of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic.

All three players have a superb record at Emirates Golf Club - Woods having won the title on two occasions while Westwood was runner up last year and Kaymer, who was fourth 12 months ago, was second in 2008, finishing one stroke behind Woods.

US PGA Champion Kaymer, who has the chance to overtake Ryder Cup Teammate Westwood at the top of the World Ranking on Sunday, is relishing the chance to take on his rivals and will play with 14 time Major winner Woods for the first time.
Pretty cool for sure- though I'm sure the USA won't see much of it. In the past I'd say the competition would elevate Woods' game and he'd dominate the group with intimidation, but now- my prediction is that all 3 will play well- with Tiger being the "worst" of the bunch heading into the weekend.

Sidenote- if you click through to the whole press release from the European Tour- note the extreme cheese. They've probably fantasy-written this release 100 times over the past 10 years. Congrats my Euro-friends. Your day in the sun is here!
