Tiger Falls Out of Top 10
By mustang6560 on 2/15/11
Remember the SI Golf Ranking? Well, in this week's list, Tiger Woods fell out of the Top 10. Here is this week's ranking:
Bubba won the Farmers Insurance Open and has finished inside the top 30 for two of the other three events he's played. Stricker has two top 10 finishes. Furyk only has one top 10 finish. Said another way, Bubba has earned $1.1 million so far this year to Stricker's measly $429k and Furyk's $162k.
I just need some clarification from SI Golf. Are you rewarding the best golfer or the staff's personal favorite golfer? Because I think it should be the best golfer and Bubba is clearly the better golf in my opinion. There is no doubt Steve and Jim are likeable guy's, but they haven't had the start Bubba has this year.

bubba is more outspoken and no one wants that on their lists... we know longer like people that arent afraid of being real and sharing real emotions and the name bubba might throw some people off...
@svj: i feel the opposite. I think fans are embracing players like Bubba, and Ben Crane. But ya this list blows. Tiger should still be on there. What about the already 2 time winner this year Mark Wilson?!?!? $2.08 mil earned so far this year...
@Banker85- yea, mark's name should be on there. he was voted as number 12.
Kurt the Knife says:
agree with mustang6560...me thinks SI is picking their favorite players not the hottest golfers at the moment. As much as I like Stricker and Furyk...Watson, Wilson and DA Points are hotter right now.
OK with Stricker, think Johnson is too high though...
Maybe they throw those guys in to their list to get people talking about the list. Too bad it won't work...
@Banker85 - Mark Wilson? Is this the "Top 10 Golfers" or the "Top 10 Golfers" this month? Let me ask a question: if you had your life savings riding on a round of golf who do you want as your playing partner? Mark Wilson or Jim Furyk?
"Top 10 Golfers this Month"?
