It's About Time Tiger!

Tiger committed to play next week at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship in Arizona.
This marks the third year the tournament will be held at the Jack Nicklaus-designed, 7,849-yard, par-72 course. In 2009, Geoff Ogilvy defeated Paul Casey, 4 and 3, and in 2010, Ian Poulter downed Casey, 4 and 2.As you know, I'm not Tiger's biggest fan. But, even as much hype as the Northern Trust Open has, it's just not the same without Tiger (and Martin Kaymer and Lee Westwood).
I'll tune in this weekend, but I'm gearing up for next weekend already!

I really like this tournament too. Tiger's win in '08 was epic. I think he was three down to JB Holmes with five holes left to play. It looked pretty certain that he'd be packing. Then he starts rolling in big-time putts from everywhere. It was just silly. Reminded me of that '96 US Amateur finals comeback. Yes that's right, I celebrate the man's entire catalogue. But you cannot deny, Tiger is a match play monster and even though he's down and out right now, I wouldn't be surprised to see him playing on Sunday.
Yah- this is a good move by Tiger to get his mojo back. He could lose first round- and it's not that big a deal- happens all the time, but it's also a chance for him to get some intimidation factor back for him- one on one- when he's always been his best through junior golf and beyond. You just beat the guy across from you over and over until you win the thing.
I like match play in general. I think it adds some excitement, and the change from the old standard stroke play is good. I think they need to add another match play later in the year... maybe the Fedex Cup should be a match play like this event. There's only 30 guys, it shouldn't be that hard to get that into a weekend.
so, what seed is he?
Oh, there it is, no 3 seed,
I always miss the big print.
Nick O'Hern is not in the field which bodes well for Mr. Woods.
Agree and like. Match play is a great format for Tiger. A bad hole is realtively meaningless with his ability to birdie hunt.
