Are Euros Better?

SI Golf released their weekly ranking of the top golfers and interestingly enough, five out of the top six are European golfers. Here's the list:
1. Martin Kaymer
2. Graeme McDowell
3. Lee Westwood
4. Phil Mickelson
5. Rory McIlroy
6. Paul Casey
7. Dustin Johnson
8. Steve Stricker
9. Matt Kuchar
10. Jim Furyk
Overall, I don't have too much beef with this week's list. I do think it's weird that in an off week, Graeme McDowell and Martin Kaymer switched positions.
If I could offer a suggestion to SI Golf, I would say their power ranking should be based on a four week moving average. Let's say Lee Westwood received 75 points week one, 80 week two, 81 week three and 77 week four. Well, add them up and divide by four. Do this for each player and then rank accordingly.
This would help prevent the staffers from letting their emotions affect the rankings AND prevent situations like Graeme jumping Kaymer when they both didn't even play. The way it is now, the staffers at SI Golf vote every week on their top 10, which opens the door up to letting things like Dustin Johnson's penalty (he did fall one spot) affect their preferences.
What do you think?

If you start doing averages, then you fall in the OWG rankings trap. 4 weeks might not be much at all, but your still basing on past performance instead of today.
I think they should just compute a scoring average, and he who has the best average wins.
@mjaber- true, but four weeks isn't that long. with what your suggesting, how would that work for players on off weeks?
I think there is no question that the BEST Europeans are better RIGHT NOW. Maybe they will be for the next couple of months or maybe even years, but I think depth of talent is still much stronger overall. If you could have a 50 man Ryder Cup team- I think the USA would still be dominant.
@mustang... agreed, four weeks isn't that long, but you have the same issue with a points system. A player on an off week still gets votes even though he didn't play.
Take the average score from the last four tournaments. Hell, just calculate their handicaps and he who has the lowest wins. All this voting mularkey is just silly. The OWG rankings are to complicated. Most golfers have at least a basic understanding of the handicap system. Let's use it.
Agree with Kick...the best Europeans are currently better than our best.
