Golf Ball Massage Therapy
By mustang6560 on 3/11/11
When I read about inventions like the SPAball Kaddy, it makes me mad because it's like "Why didn't I think of that?"
Karr invented the SPAball Kaddy, a polymer device that holds a golf ball, allowing a therapist to move it freely over a client's body, and the KaddyBACK, a kind of pouch that allows you to position a golf ball on the back while leaning against a chair, wall or car seat and use it to massage the back.

The idea of using a golf ball as a massage tool came about when a client asked her to use it on his back for deep-tissue massage. It was effective, she said, but after a while started to hurt her hand.
Mad might not be the correct adjective to describe the feeling. Jealous and disappointed maybe better suited. I'm not trying to take anything away from the lady who invented this but the concept seems so simple that I feel like I should have been able to come up with it. Alas...

The SPAball Kaddy does seem legit, though. What she invented was the cone shaped piece that fits around the golf ball that protects her hand during the massage. She said it took her several prototypes before she settled on the final product. If she applies slight pressure, the ball will spin. But if she applies more pressure, the ball doesn't slide for a deep tissue massage.

I've had one massage in my life and thoroughly enjoyed it. If I had an unlimited amount of money, I'd get at least one massage per week.

Haha my wife keeps a golfball in her purse to work on her neck when it gets tight and she doesn't even play golf. I can see how this could be a thing people would buy.

I used to keep a golf ball in a sock to use on my upper back while I was driving but it kept falling off. That is why I made the KaddyBACK. It stays on your shoulder! Now if only golf balls could do the dishes I would be a happy camper.

Congratulations on your invention Heather.
Now you've got to play some golf to see where all the pain comes from.

Heather, I hope you make a bundle; any legitimate idea that works and helps increase the visibility of the game is a good thing. I might buy a KaddyBack -- just not in pink.

I'm actually taking lessons! Boy, I have soooo much more respect for the game. I wanted to feel the same pain my clients felt. The biggest issue I have with my golfer clients is that they are not too good about stretching. Lack of flexibility can make your swing short and narrow. You can add 20 - 40 yards to your drive by simply being flexible! Watch this amazing demo in flexibility that will give you goosebumps! (Well, it gave ME goosebumps.) bit.ly/9beiHj
