Golf Cart Luxury
By mustang6560 on 3/29/11
Are you tired of riding in an ordinary golf cart? Well, my friends, the Danish company Garia your heard your cries for a luxurious golf cart.
Conceived in 2005, the vision of Garia was to produce, without compromise, the best golf car in the world. To achieve this goal Garia has teamed up with companies around the globe who are unsurpassed in their fields. The Garia is manufactured at the Valmet Automotive factory in Finland, where the Porsche Boxster and Porsche Cayman are built. The factory is also contracted by THINK and Fisker Automotive to manufacture environmentally friendly and innovative electric and hybrid cars. Dr. Heinrich Petra, who was responsible for establishing the MINI project for BMW, has been responsible for the production launch of The Garia with his team at Valmet Automotive.
I prefer to walk myself, so I'm waiting for the pimped out push cart Garia.

I would be willing to bet that the majority of people who purchase a Garia have a 20+ HCP. It's the 20 handies that need to make up for their lack of a game with something fancy like a Garia. Admittedly, I do like the design of the bag rack. It's angled out at about a 45 degree angle to make grabbing a club easier.

The Garia took home honorable mention at the Red Dot Design Award competition. If you watch the intro on their website, it seems this cart was designed for off the course. If I had a huge compound that I lived on and needed a way to get to and from the main lodge to the beach, then yea, why not ride in style with a Garia. If I'm trying to get from my tee shot to the green, I'm not really worried about how I look. But, that's just me.

@ppinkert- I disagree. I don't think "snob ass comments" like that keep potential golfers from picking up the game. I think it has more to do with cost, pace of play, etc.

The point I was making is I know more 20+ handicaps who spend more money trying to look good rather than spending time on the range trying to get good. The really good players I know are not flashy, they just go out and handle their business and let their game speak for itself.

Kurt the Knife says:
I have a 28+ handicap and I can attest to the fact that I always try to look better than I really am. Even though I practice nearly 4-5 days a week.

I like the 20+ers who have 6 sets of new clubs, 3 scotty putters and have never had the need to regrip a club because they play 3 times a year.

@ppinkertya: i dont see anything about that comment being snobby and keeping people away from the game. Its the snobs who buy the luxury items brand new clubs act like they are so good but suck but hey they are rich so screw you. I got yo back Mustang!

Kurt the Knife says:
@Homer
me too. the alliteration is striking.
And being the wino that I am and folks all repulsed by local "wine snobs", I am looking forward to using it around the tasting rooms.

ahhhh broadening horizons, thats why I come here.

Any ideas of pricing? I surfed around their web page, no pricing info. It does seem "snob-ass" when high end products don't have a price tag. Kind of sends the clear message; "if you have to ask...you can't afford it." I am tired of the luxury and exclusivity messages the golf industry seems to have embraced...mean while...less and less golfers are taking up the game.

I saw another item on this cart and the writer stated it was "only $17,000." One can purchase a 2012 Ford Focus for less than this golf cart. Of course, a person in the market for a Garia probably does not know what a "Ford" or "Chevy" is.

Did you know that Patrick is the patron saint of snob-assery?
3/29/11

bkuehn1952 says:
@homermania: If I recall correctly, Patrick was declared a saint after he drove all the snob-asses from Ireland. That is one of the reasons why St. Patrick is the patron saint of golf.

getting to your ball before opponents can check your lie... priceless

1Hit55 says:
The price you pay for a Garia is not worth it! In the end it's just a golf cart nothing more! Who in their right mind would pay such an over bloated price for a Vechicle that goes only 19 mph? People wake-up! Save your money and buy something else with your hard earned money! Garia is way over priced!
