Donald Trump vs. Barack Obama
By mustang6560 on 4/27/11
Donald Trump made headlines recently for criticizing President Barack Obama for playing golf during "times of war". Personally, I don't have a problem with Obama playing golf, but it's an easy way for a potential Republican presidential candidate (a la Donald) to attack Obama. But, Trump said if he were president, he wouldn't play golf because the president should be seen as steadfast during such times.

Donald also said he'd beat Obama in a friendly round of golf. Know what that sounds like to me? Sounds like we got ourselves a good ol' fashion challenge boys! And there is only one way to settle this: mano a mano, "The Donald" vs. "El Presidente".

ProGolfTalk published Trumps' official USGA handicap today, which is a 3.9. From the looks of it, we may have some handicap fluffing going on here.
Well, we pulled up Donald Trump’s handicap index, as monitored by the USGA on their website. Trump says publicly he is a 3.9 handicap index, which the USGA’s GHIN system verifies. Problem is that all of his recorded rounds in the last three years, except one, were on his home course(s) – including Winged Foot.

Trump hasn’t recorded a score in 18 months before April 15. That’s quite a drought. Seems kind of unlikely that’s true, though it may have been a tough year-and-a-half for The Donald to fit in a round.
Clearly Donald Trump is the better golfer. Even if he only used scores from his home course to help his handicap, it shows he is still capable of scoring well. Rumors on the Internets say Obama's handicap is somewhere between 16-24.

But the fact of the matter is I think if they had a stroke play challenge at a neutral course, Obama would win because he would get several strokes. If Obama was playing to a 16 handicap vs. Trump's 3.9, I think Obama would win every time because he would have the advantage. The only way Donald would win was if he played at his home course.

Talk about a great charity fundraiser. I think Obama vs. Trump would make a boat load of money. Mr. Trump, if can organize this and you need a blogger to cover the tournament, I'd like to put my name in the hat!

I don't see the President giving The Donald any free publicity. Still it is fun to imagine how the match would proceed.

If I were in the President's camp, I think I would want it on a "neutral" course but one that suits the President's game. Play off the lower handicap's index so The Donald plays scratch and the President gets how ever many strokes difference there are between them. Finally, I would say they walk and carry or push their own bags. Count on superior conditioning and age as the 15th club.

The Donald would of course want to invite the President to one of his clubs, use 80% of the handicap difference and ride a cart together.

that would never happen. sorry. Donald seems to have some game all be it with an ugly ass swing. With the hcp's i would take the Pres any day over the big talking Trump.

Considering Donnie's index is complete BS, if they used handicaps, I would put my money on the Pres. Now if they were playing handicaps AND had a rules official keeping a close eye on them both, then I say the Pres beats him badly.

I wonder if Donnie has ever putted out on a hole?

How ever many strokes the Pres would get I would take Mr. Trump. His swing may be, let's say, unconventional but the dude can play. I've seen the Pres throw out the first pitch at ball games and I'm guessing his swing is alot worse. JMHO.

Trump is the embodiment of so much that is wrong.

Im sure trump is a cheat anyway!!!

I can't believe your president would give that republican fool the time of day. Does Trump let "foreigners" play on his courses?

Mr. President all the way. Hopefully for the sanity of the rest of the world the republicans have won their last ever contest... oh! Did they actually win their last one?

Oobgolf...please feel free to delete the above post. Is meant to be light hearted and not meant to offend, or prevent me coming over for Christmas ;-)

If I'm betting my money, I'm gonna side with the guy who owns amazing golf courses and can play any time he feels like it vs. the President who plays acouple times a year.

Donald is a good golfer, ugly swing but he makes it work.
