Luke Donald Can Reach No. 1, Again
By mustang6560 on 4/28/11
Luke Donald has another chance to reach No. 1 this weekend at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

Is this the week for Luke?
Of course, all this depends on how Westwood does at the Ballantine’s Championship, which is being played this week in Seoul.

Westwood needs to finish fifth or better there to retain the No. 1 spot he wrestled from Kaymer with his win Sunday in Indonesia. But if Donald is second at the Zurich Classic, Westwood needs to finish in the top three to stay at No. 1 and if Donald wins in New Orleans, Westwood also needs a victory to hold him off.
Simply put, no.

Unlike last week at The Heritage, Luke doesn't have a "storied" career at the Zurich Classic. And again, I would like to stress that winning a tournament is not an easy thing. Luke only has three career PGA Tour victories in over 10 years on tour. To be fair, Luke has a better chance to jump to the top this week than last week at The Heritage. If he finishes second and Lee Westwood finishes sixth or worse at the Ballantine's Championship, than Luke will be the new No. 1. If Luke win, than Lee has to finish in the top three to avoid losing the top spot.

I will say this, I don't think it's going to be long before Lee Westwood loses his No. 1 ranking. With Donald close on his tail and Martin Kaymer not playing recently, I wouldn't be surprised to see a new No. 1 by the US Open.

Luke Donald for #1!

A lot more talent than Westwood. Honestly must be pretty retarded to be disturbed by simple camera sounds. Not as if the professional photographers are on the quiet side.
