Best At-Home Putting System
By mustang6560 on 6/1/11
Besides the occasional gold fish I would win at the state fair, I've never owned a pet. Mainly because I'm allergic to animals, especially cats (conniving little...). Within five minutes of being around a cat, I start breathing heavy and my nose opens up like a fire hydrant.
Although she's seen my allergies firsthand, my girlfriend still tries to convince me to get a pet at any and every opportunity she can. I understand dogs provide great companionship and cats are...nice(?). Despite her many attempts, she's yet to convince me the pros of owning a pet outweigh the cons.
However, I think I found the most convincing piece of evidence to date as to why I should get a dog. I could train it to be my personal ball retriever like the gentleman in the video. If I could practice my putting and never have to move to get my ball, that would be awesomely amazing! Minus the white socks and loafers and jorts, this guy seems to know what he's doing.
P.S. Still not getting a dog.

My buddy Sean would hit golf balls into the woods behind his house - his dog, Bert, would retrieve every one of them. He would not quit until he found every ball. Dogs are awesome.

eeeeew. dog spitty golf balls. eeew.
I have mine retrieve my whiffle balls but she bites down on them to hard and ruins them after 2 shots, the almost golf ones last longer but I need more room to hit them. Our previous dog was the best, she never bit to hard until she got really tired.
@mustang6560 So has the girlfriend already got you set up with house plants? I hear they like to test your parenting skills with plants and pets, not saying, just saying.
Not yet. I wouldn't let them in the house :)
Dogs are awesome. They lower your blood pressure and give you unconditional love...not like your girlfriend.
pretty cool. that video can be cut down to about 10 seconds though since the dog keeps doing the same thing over and over and over and over and over...
And that putter is like what 27 inches?
@mustang... I'll give you my dog. She's hypo-allergenic. She doesn't shed, and doesn't create any problems for people with allergies. She does need a haircut every so often, though.

Wish I could say all that about me ex-wife.
my lab just chews the covers right off of golf balls. its hard to get out of the carpet if she gets downd to the core.
