![]() Remember This Name: Bud Cauley By mustang6560 on 7/25/11
For the record, I am officially adding Bud Cauley to my list of favorite golfers. So my list of favorite golfers looks like this (in alphabetical order):
Bud decided to skip his senior year at Alabama and turned pro after he qualified for the U.S. Open at Congressional Country Club last month. Since turning pro, he is four for four in cuts made and has three top 25 finishes and one top 5 at the Viking Classic. So far, he's made over $300k in those four starts and is roughly $244k away from earning temporary status on the PGA Tour for the rest of 2011. Per PGA Tour regulations, a nonmember like Cauley can earn temporary status for the remainder of the season if he finds a way inside the watermark of last year’s top-150 on the money list. That temporary status affords Cauley unlimited sponsor exemptions until the end of the year, as well as guaranteed status on the Nationwide Tour in 2012.The only reason I didn't add him to my list sooner is because he played golf for the University of Alabama. It might seem petty, but as a LSU Tiger, I have certain loyalties I must adhere to. Despite being crimson and white, I decided it was time to go on record and officially declare my fanhood. That way, when he becomes one of golf's best, I can say "I was a fan of Bud before he won". Read More photo via al.com [ comments ] Cool. Something to follow as season wraps up. Wonder if he has until end of the fall series to make up that $244k. 7/25/11
