Rory May Rejoin PGA Tour

In his pre-tournament press conference, Rory McIlroy admitted he was considering rejoining the PGA Tour for the 2012 season.
"I’m leaning towards taking my card up again definitely," the reigning U.S. Open champ said on Wednesday at Firestone Country Club. "I feel as if I play my best golf over here. I’m very comfortable in this country. … I’m definitely looking towards coming back and playing a full schedule over here."Rory, I knew you'd have a change of heart!
He first hinted that he was interested in playing more golf in America after winning the U.S. Open at Congressional Country Club. And he alluded to it again after his disappointing performance at the Open Championship at Royal St. George's by saying he enjoyed playing in sunny, 80 degree weather (hmmm, where can you find weather like that?). And like the Prodigal Son, the PGA Tour would welcome him back with open arms if (when) he decides to take up membership again.
The PGA Tour really should reconsider its rule that members must play in a minimum of 15 events each year, especially for the elite golfers in the world. Right now, McIlroy is limited to a maximum of 10 events and the WGC-Bridgestone and PGA Championship will be numbers nine and ten. The European Tour now requires its members to play a minimum of 13 events so it's really hard to balance dual memberships. I know several players manage (including World #1 Luke Donald), but the fans shouldn't have to suffer because PGA Tour and European Tour are having a pissing contest.

Good on him. Although I'm British and us Europeans are the best golfers < fact! I do prefer watching the PGA tour week to week...
Rory could be the next Tiger Woods
glad to see he got his head out his ass.
