"Tiger gives me stick about being short"

The bromance between current world number one Rory McIlroy and former world number one Tiger Woods is blossoming right before our eyes.

In an interview with the Irish Times, Rory talks about his budding friendship with Tiger. He even revealed how their friendship has moved beyond simple salutations to jovial digs at one another.

"Tiger gives me stick about being short," McIlroy said, according to the report. "He always asks me, 'Seriously, how tall are you?' I'll say, '5-foot-9.' 'Yeah, but without the hair? That's 5-7, right?' He'll ask me, 'What do you do when Caroline (Wozniacki, McIlroy's girlfriend) wears heels?'

"But I give him grief about all sorts – getting old, getting bald. He doesn't take himself too seriously, certainly not when I'm around. ... I've been seeing loads of Tiger and I've got to know the person."

If their relationship continues to grow, we'll soon need give them a formal couple name like Wozzilroy (Caroline Wozniacki and Rory's couple name).

@GolfSmith7- I have a hard time believing Tiger is "intimidated" by Rory. If anything, Tiger is motivated by Rory. It seems as though the student became the teacher.

This mutual admiration society seems to be genuine. If it is, and I hope it is, it's good for all concerned. Tiger seems more comfortable in his skin right now, Maybe it's maturity and if it is I like it.

Personally, I think if Tiger took that attitude with the fans, there'd be a lot less people disliking him. When you read stories like this, it makes people warm to him more.
