Free Wedges and More
Again I want to thank you all for the input to my questions of last week. We had 116 responses, filled with insight into how you “call” your wedges. As promised, we put all the names in a bowl and pulled out five winners: backquak, dottomm, jpjeffery, virtuaframax and snuffyword. I’ve sent each of you a private message with instruction on how to get your FREE EIDOLON V-SOLE wedge.

But we appreciate all of your input, and wish we could give away a free wedge to everyone, but obviously we cannot. So I’m doing the next best thing.

I’m going to allow any and all of my readers can buy new EIDOLON V-SOLE wedges with the last of the 2010 high spin grooves for HALF of our normal retail price of $119 each. Yes, you can now get one or a whole set of our V-SOLE wedges for only $59.50 a club!!!

Have I lost my mind? Some would say so, but we have a major new product announcement to make in the weeks ahead – a product line we have kept under wraps and one that promises to change the game in the scoring club category. And my production manager says we need to clear the inventory shelves to make room. So, if we need to clear out these last few hundred 2010 V-SOLE wedges, I want to make them available here first.

All you need to do is visit our website – – select your wedges and use Coupon Code TWG-50 at checkout. It will give you a 50% discount on your entire order. Buy as many as you like, pass this on to your friends and take advantage of this offer that even I can’t believe.

If you’ve ever wanted to take advantage of the EIDOLON V-SOLE technology, or get back-ups with high spin 2010 grooves, this is your chance.

I rarely use this forum to directly promote EIDOLON wedges, but this is my way of saying “thank you” for reading and participating in these bi-weekly articles.

Congrats to the winners! I see a new set of wedges in the near future!

Congrats to the winners, I didn't see this article before my comment on Tuesdays. Oh well, next time...........

Let's start guessing what the "major announcement" is.

I'm gonna say that it's irons. Eidolon Irons.
Banker85 says:
That would be cool, Eidolon Irons... I imagine they would be Blades given Terry's constant endorsement for blade style Irons. I am excited now!
Paolo says:
Damned Atlantic ocean. I'd love a 56* Eidolon wedge but with the offer it'd cost me about as much in shipping as the wedge would cost. And I don't fancy my chances of getting it in my hand luggage at Christmas after visiting.
mjaber says:
@Banker... nah, he's gonna throw us all for a loop and do a complete hybrid-iron set.
SD Charlie says:
Wow! Just when I was thinking about replacing my 52 with an Eidolon. May I say that I love the 57 I got when my question was picked! I'm very interested in the new developments also. Congratulations on the new product line!
dottomm says:
I love the OOB!!!
I can't wait to use my new Eidolon wedge. Thank you Terry!
joshwelborn says:
If it was irons, I doubt he'd be liquidating wedges.

"a product line we have kept under wraps and one that promises to change the game in the scoring club category" - that can only mean one thing, they are going to release a product that can help me score better :-) Wonder if it has an iPhone connection -so you hit, then use iPhone to guide ball in the direction of hole. Now that would help lower the score :-) Don't think the rules will allow it though, shame...
jrbizzle says:
Glad to hear jpjeffrey won one of your wedges. He recently had a post in the forum in regards to his frustrations on not being able to break through on some improvements he has been working at, and lots of oobers were giving him good support. The guy sounds like he really loves the game, but just needs one round where things click for some confidence and he might just start lowering his scored. Hopefully the Eidolon will give him a spark.

I just bought a 56 degree for full price, less the discount for oob of course. I'd be glad to add the difference for the second wedge, a matching 60?
snuffyword says:
Thanks for the wedge, Terry! I ordered a 60* to match my 56*. That will be very helpful with my bunker play and flop shots on fast greens. Next up, a gap wedge. Does the major new product have to do with the new model name contest you did a while back?
windowsurfer says:
In my golf-support life (the stuff i do to pay for clubs, memberships, mancations, etc.) I get paid for marketing and product development. Naming and naming conventions (the rationale for a family of names, not a drunken three-day junket) are a challenging part of that. TWG's work towards the launch of a new set of "next generation wedges" is interesting to watch. Using oobgolf members as an highly involved and expert "steering committee" is smart and should be relevant. Plus, Terry's generosity with free wedges and his terrific articles are ample payback for the market research he gleans from the oobermench.

BTW, Eidolon? Wikipedia sez it's an "apparition" - wonder what drove this name choice?
windowsurfer says:
It's right there in About Us on the website: The name EIDOLON (eye-do-lon) literally means, "The image of an ideal", and that pretty much sums up how we view the short game.
dustin2777 says:
just received my new eidolon's. Sweet sticks!
