Texas Wildfires Spare Golf Course

Who said close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades?
Mygolfperformance.com posted several pictures on Facebook of the damage caused by the recent wildfires near the Austin Golf Club in Austin, Texas.
For the most part, the club was spared from the wildfires. However, the par 3 course did sustain some damage to a few fairways, but the good news is the clubhouse, superintendents house and maintenance shop were all left standing.
See for yourself.

I flew by the fire Monday on my way back home from Durango Colorado. I have never seen a fire so big or smoke so thick. It is a horrible tragedy. Lake Travis is almost dry, and I heard the helicopters were having trouble getting water because it's so shallow.

The aerial photo really tells a story. My thoughts and prayers are with Texans who have lost more than 1,400 homes and property, as well as to the families and friends of those four people who have died (thus far) in this tragedy.
