Golf Course Stabbing Victim Speaks
By mustang6560 on 3/14/12
Clay Carpenter, the man who was stabbed on the golf course some seven weeks ago, spoke for the first time about the injury that nearly took his life.
To refresh your memory, Clay was involved in a fight at Eagle Mountain Lake two months ago. His threesome was playing behind a slower foursome and the local marshal instructed his group to play through. During the transition, a fight broke out and Clay ended up getting stabbed in his femoral artery and nearly bled out. Luckily, he was rushed to the hospital in time to save his life but he may never be able to play golf again and there is a chance he may have to have his leg amputated in the future.
No one has been arrested and no charges have been filed in the case yet.

someone needs to be held accountable for what happened that day. Even if he fell on the broken club the guy who started the fight should be charged criminally.
At least six witnesses and still no arrest?
that is just crazy, maybe we need a golfer certification, to make sure people are mentally stable enough to play without attacking others............
I play that course very often. Never had any issues, but there are a ton of ignorant people in TX, reason is a thing that doesn't surface often. I was amazed with the behavior people get away with in public when I first moved here from DC.
My guess is that they could easily arrest the suspect on 'lesser' charges but they are attempting to put together more solid evidence to charge him with a more fitting crime. They know exactly who and where the guy is and probably no reason to think he is an immediate threat to anyone else. So they have plenty of time to investigate and potentially wear down any resistance and sort out possible conflicting testimony from the eye witness golf buddies before filing charges.
If they file charges right away it is more likely everyone involved will 'lawyer up' and make things much more difficult.
