There is a new book I keep hearing about available for the holidays, "Follow The Roar: Tailing Tiger On All 604 Holes of His Most Spectacular Season", by Bob Smiley. Smiley is a former sitcom writer who needed a project during the writer's strike so he decided to follow every one of Tiger's golf shots in 2008. He did it just as a fan with no access to Tiger or even with Tiger's knowledge. Unfortunately for Smiley, Tiger's year was cut short. At least what he saw was pretty amazing- and did allow him to get his book out a year earlier than he probably expected.
I've heard about this book from a couple sources now with most saying it's pretty great. The Deadspin.com link below has a couple excerpts.

my friend and fellow oobgolfer gabriel moreno met bob smiley(the author) at Torrey Pines during the US Open. We both got the book on the day it came out and read it in like a few hours. We have decided Its one of the best golf books ever written.
