I Want One

Titleist has two Tour versions of a special ProV1 they never plan to sell. No Fair!
Since last August, Titleist has made two tour-only versions of the Pro V1 ball available to PGA Tour players. The Pro V1 Plus Spin is marked with aI doubt I need them. I doubt they'll help my putrid game. But still- how can I not want them?!
One thing that has always held true in the golf industry is that while everyone knows PGA Tour pros are getting custom fitting and special treatment with equipment, it is still the same equipment we could go out and buy. This deviates from that ideal. And... I don't believe Titleist. I bet these sell to the public at some point in the near future. We just need to create enough fuss.

It's all about marketing hype, from beer to cars. Back when Coors was first getting started, I knew guys who would bring cases in from Dallas, they thought they really had something special because it wasn't available locally.
If this has "leaked" out.. I'd bet you'll see a new Titleist ball on the market soon.

Last summer, I followed one guy around for nine holes who was playing, and losing, a lot of ProV balls. Like an idiot, I decided to give them a try. If I was smart, I would have just started collecting and selling them.
I consider $1 per ball to be a bit too expensive. I went and spent $50 on a good basketball about five years ago, and I still use it. I guarantee I go through more than 50 golf balls a year.

It would make for an interesting poll to find out just how many here would agree with that statement.
A very good friend of mine is the Titliest rep locally. He told me about the ProV1S late last year. I'm going to get one from him and try it. I will let you know.

I think i'll stick to just Titleist balls like the NXT Tour or soft covers and less expensive models.
i bet it will be the same as the normal ProV1 and ProV1x
