And they sent a nice pic!
These Are The Sheex
By Kickntrue on 9/9/11
One of the joys of working for oobgolf is the daily emails of press releases and product info from golf PR companies. Most get trashed- some get talked about, and then a select few just make your jaw drop, while trying to figure out what to do with them.

This happened to me Wednesday.
SHEEX Teams Up with 13-time LPGA Tour Winner Rosie Jones and U.S. Team for the 2011 Solheim Cup

SHEEX, maker of the world’s first performance bedding, has teamed up with the 2011 U.S. Solheim Cup Team to provide the golfers with innovative and cutting-edge bedding engineered to help athletes Sleep Better and Play Better. This year’s national team, captained by 13-time LPGA Tour event winner Rosie Jones, will defend their title against Europe’s top female golfers when the biennial event takes place at Killeen Castle in County Meath, Ireland, from September 23rd -25th.

SHEEX co-founders Susan Walvius and Michelle Marciniak designed SHEEX Performance Bedding with one goal in mind: to help people sleep better so they can perform at their peak the next day. Inspired by the most technologically advanced performance athletic fabrics, SHEEX products feature SLEEP•FIT Technology for maximum comfort and improved sleep quality. SHEEX breathe nearly 50 percent better than traditional bedding to reduce sleep-disrupting temperature fluctuations at night. By transferring body heat two times more effectively than cotton, SHEEX also promote the cooler conditions that research indicates are critical for deeper and more restorative sleep.
It goes on, but I'll assume you've read enough. Performance Bedding, huh...? Okay- you just can't send that to a red-blooded male, and not go there, right?! Moisture wicking, temperature controlled, precision-fit sheets. So basically you're sleeping in Under Armour! I can get all sweaty and active in bed- and the sheets will react the way I want them too?! No more, "off," "on," "off, "to the left" (the sheets, obviously). Count me in! Send me samples! I "try them out" and let you know what I think!

Just roll over and let the sheets do the rest!

Seriously though (as if there can really be a "seriously though") you do have to wonder if bedding is something to play with when dealing with an athletic event. I guess just changing the sheets shouldn't be too big a deal, but the problem specifically with bedding is that any difference from the expected norm can be quite a jolt. I'm sure memory foam and posturpedic crap is nice, expensive, better, etc... but I sure wouldn't want to have spend a one-off night on it before a big day. How awful is it when you show up at the hotel and the pillows suck? And it's not that the pillows really suck, in fact, I'm sure they're 5x more expensive than the Target Extra-Firm pillows I buy, but they still AREN'T my stuff cotton-ball feeling pillows. They give you 5 of the things- why can't they give you a variety so you're at least covered with one you like?!

Oops- I think I got off-topic.

I don't really give a Sheex about this anyway... it's Friday afternoon. Have a good weekend- and buy Sheex! Only $79 it's almost worth a shot.

Did you get mustang to proof-read this for you?
Kickntrue says:
Mustang is off enjoying the US Open semis and finals this weekend (and now early next week). You're stuck with me for 2 more days so def no proof reading going on.

What a load of sheet! (Bada bing) $200 for a set of sheets with pillowcases they say will help your sporting performance. Buy them and I'm sure they introduce you to someone that has some great waterfront property to sell you!

performance bedding.
Is what i'd call my lifestyle.

Just ask my girl.

Maybe that's the source of the back problems, hmmm
Kurt the Knife says:
A contributing factor, indeed.

On their web site, one customer recommended these sheets, saying that "Egyptian cotton doesn't cut it anymore." Wow. If the $$$ is there, I'll try a set. Seriously. When my humble abode gets blazing-freaking hot in July and August and the AC can barely keep up, these might just be worth the money.

After all, as with golf clubs, family-law attorneys, and musical instruments... you get what you pay for.

I don't know about yall, but I have actually tried them. The point isn't that you have better performance. The point is that it allows you to sleep cooler so you can sleep better through the night. If you are rested, then you "perform" better. They definitely made a believer out of me. I bought a set a couple weeks ago from their site and both me and my wife can feel the difference. She always complains that I toss and turn at night but lately I haven't had that problem. Don't know if you've tried them, but they work for me.
