Earn $50 For Referring Partner Courses
By Kickntrue on 7/31/08
We get emails from you guys all the time saying how much you love us. Now you can prove it. Of course like any true love- we won't scorn you if you don't help out- but it is a chance to make a little extra money- and it does help keep oobgolf free (because we spend too much time on this site working for you to do anything else).

oobgolf.com is looking to connect with courses everywhere that might be interested in our new Partner Course program.

This advertising provides great exposure for the course and helps keep oobgolf.com free for you. If you help us connect to a course we'd be happy to pay you for your efforts.

Here's How It Works:
  • Print out our Partner Course Flyer

  • Write your name and email address at the bottom in "referred by" space

  • Take it to your golf course and tell them they are missing the boat if they don't know oobgolf

  • Tell them to contact us (or else)

  • When they sign up to be a Partner Course we send you $50 for helping out.

For more details on Course Partnerships, click here or email us at info@oobgolf.com.

$50 isn't too little. If you're charging $100/month and want us to be your sales staff, I would say it should be 50% of the revenues generated or $50/month for the length of the contract in the partner program.

-OR- you could be happy that you get a site like oobgolf totally for free, and ecstatic that they are willing to pay you anything for helping them out.

come on markwu2 - get on the love train, brother. what the hell are you going to do with 50 bucks anyway? cannonball? how about this - you sign on 25 courses and the oob boys will cut you a better deal? go sell.

It appears as though markwu2 is waiting until there is a sweeter deal to sit at home and cold call... I didn't know we were supposed to try and make this our full time gig. I say everyone gets $50 and markwu2 get $10 b/c he complained. Maybe the rest of us can split his remaining take...

mbills1015 says:
Even better idea... the site is free for everyone but markwu2. He has to pay a monthly service fee for all the services that we enjoy for free. Maybe then he can work out a better revenue sharing plan with the powers that be.

Kickntrue says:
Hah- thanks for the support guys. He does have some fair points. In a sales role we'd obviously have to pay more. 50% residual commission...? Please tell me where you work so I can get a job there. We aren't asking anyone to sell anything- just make courses aware of us. There is a little more to a sales process- like... pitching the Partnership, closing the deal, implementation, keeping the course happy and generating referrals. I'm not sure you really want to sign up for all of that. :)

My outlook is I have been telling everyone about oobgolf for free, so $50 bonus for continuing what I am doing already is sweet.

I'm with you Ben. I'll get started on the club pro's too now.

If it's just for lead generation then $50 a lead makes sense. Sales would be different. If you wanted closed sales Markwu would be right.

markwu2 says:
Haha - fair enough. Don't get me wrong, I've referred plenty of people to oobgolf. Just thought a little revenue sharing wouldn't be bad. Of course, pitching the partnership as Kickntrue says may be a decent idea...

As a past marketing manager with a small sales force under me I always looked for great ideas to spur my sales force on to get out there and bake up some new ideas! That sales force always came through when enough $$$ incentive was provided, and PAID up front, when and if the product and idea was worth putting forth the effort. Does your "Partner Course Program" actually benefit the golf course it is aimed at, or does it just benefit 'oobGolf's' coiffures? And how does the middleman in this deal get paid his percentage? whatever that may be? Lay out a better marketing plan and scenario and facts and figures sheets and I'm all in! Nothing spurs me on like a few $$$ in my pocket for talking golf.

PapaJoe you may be more ridiculous then markwu2 before he saw the light. Last I checked you weren't employed by oobgolf so lets not act like you're "part of the sales team." In fact there not actually asking you to sell anything. Just to spread the word about oobgolf to your local course. You mention it to the course you might get $50 for the 30 seconds of your time. Maybe you should actually go the page and read about the benefits before wondering if its just for "oobgolf's coiffures." If you guys don't think that $50 bucks is worth it then don't tell anyone about it and you don't have to worry, but lets not complain. No one is forcing you to do anything.

COFFER...A safe or strongbox for storing money.

thank you merlin... not sure what the word meant, but it was used, so I quoted it.

PapaJoe says:
My apologies for the misuse of "coiffure"! Even an idiot makes mistakes all the time! Merlin2D: You should have been an editor!

mbills1015: What light did markwu2 see? Since I found 'oobGolf' I have spread the word about what an awesome golfing web site it is, and NOBODY forced me to brag about it. But I have not yet been able to answer what benefits it holds for the average golfer other than an entertaining little web site. You are right, I am NOT employed by 'oobGolf' and have no official affiliation with it. And I have by no means at any time acted as a part of it's sales team! Nor will I with the attitude you exhibit. After all, as you said, what have I got to win or lose? Not to belittle your affiliation with oobGolf, but do you have any business or sales afilliations with oobGolf that could help us peons acting as members further contribute and further boost oobGolf's image and monetary coffers?

Kickntrue says:
Honestly guys- this is getting stupid. I'm tempted to just whack all the comments and leave the post the post. We are asking for your help in reaching courses who have never heard of it- it's that simple. There are no thick pockets being lined and no courses being swindled. If you take a look at the Parnter Courses Program you can see that this will benefit any course that wants additional exposure by advertising on the web as well as getting information and reports from our data. If you'd like to pass a flyer do so- if not, don't.

Kickntrue, I would love nothing more than to see oobGolf succeed in the Internet golfing arena where many others have failed, especially those asking for a yearly fee to join. But I know from past experience that the head golf pro, or course owner/manager, or golf committee overseeing operations, are the absolute hardest sell of any business. I suggested your idea, and passed along a few flyers to four different golf courses in the Louisville, KY area. Two public, one semi-private, and one private country club. I knew all the pros and people I talked to so it was not exactly a "cold call". I hate to report something like this, but every reply was: "Who golf? OobGolf??? What the heck is Oob?" Now four more people in Kentucky know about your web site, but none were willing to fork over $99 per month (yet) for a flyer or advertising idea that only got them posted on maps and descriptions that have existed for several years already. I apologize if I came across as "hard and sassy" about what money was involved for what was given in return. I was merely posing questions that I knew I would be asked if I threw out your idea to possible subscribers. Seems I got some harsh criticism for what I thought were valid questions. Hell, I don't NEED the money, but $50 would be a welcome addition to my wallet anytime for any reason. I just like to be fully prepared no matter what size sales pitch I make. And just for the heck of it I will follow up with each of those people I talked with to further enlighten them on what they could be missing out. If I make only ONE sale I will be extremely happy. I hope I can! And I sincerely hope oobGolf stays on the net! It takes a lot of hard work and dedication by you guys & gals to make something like this succeed. Hope I can help! Don't be discouraged by people like me. Help us!

Guys, I think this is great. It gives me a chance to give back. My friend and I were wondering if we would end up having to pay for this benifit. I told him i would pay $5.oo a month easy. Glad i can try to help. I will pass out your flyer and brag on this site every time i golf.

After contacting oobGolf's webmasters and managers hopefully I/we have solved the problem of the "Idiot" PapaJoe posing as the "Real" PapaJoe. Thank you guys. Hopefully you have identified the moron making the senseless and idiotic remarks under my name, The Real "PapaJoe". What a shame that people like that exists and try to spoil what is a good web site for other people! Even if I may have raised the "ire" of someone on this web site, there should be no cause for that person to screw it up for everyone else! I will be posting this message on several article forums, "Fore Play", "Cigar Lounge," and on every other public forum that exists on oobGolf to hopefully prevent idiots such as they are to screw up the works for the rest of us. I write this as the "Real PapaJoe" and give you my personal e-mail of: papajoehermit@juno.com for anyone to check out the legitimacy of my honesty. Thank you. JGoff, Louisville, KY.
