Wells Fargo Championship Giveaway
By mustang6560 on 5/3/12
Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy make their post-Masters return this week at the Wells Fargo Championship.
Wells Fargo Championship Leaderboard
Both players have won this tournament in previous years (Rory in 2010 and Tiger in 2007). But, it was Lucas Glover who won at Quail Hollow last year with his gnarly beard. His beard made such an impression in 2011 that some clever golf fan created a Facebook page for his beard. So it only seemed appropriate to feature Lucas and his beard in this week's oobgolf giveaway.
Up for grabs is a Goose Golf Towel, courtesy of Goose Golf. To enter the giveaway, answer the following question in the comments section below. You can post as many comments as you want, but only one will count in the random giveaway.
Can Lucas Glover win without his beard? Why or why not?
All comments posted by 11:59pm Sunday, May 6, 2012 will count as entry.
** Giveaway is open to all legal US residents 18 years or older. No purchase necessary. A winner will be announced the week of May 6, 2012 on oobgolf.com. Tax expenses are not included. You have the right to refuse the prize. In case of prize refusal a series of new entrants will be picked until the prize is accepted. Odds of winning based on number of entries. with or without he's not winning...
I think he drew sthrength from that beast and without it he is a former shell of himself from a year ago.
Yes, beards have nothing to do with golf.
Glover will not win. He should grow a mustache a la Rolly Fingers.
No as a result of the "Samson & Delilah Syndrome".
Lucas can not win with a beard, he can not win with a shave, he can not in the dark, he can not win in a cave, he will not win with a stache, because he does not want all that cash.
Yes he can. It's not the beard that propels the ball, it's the club head.
i could never grow a beard. the most i get is in the likeness of a peach fuss which is now a little thicker from shaving.
"Wow, you look so manly when cleanshaven," said no one ever.
Can't win. Won't win.
The beard might win. Lucas probably not.
Duke of Hazards says:
He could not would not with a beard, would not could not if he's sheared.
I'm in!!! Go get'em Glover!!!
no, he won't win w/o the beard. The lack of that gnarly beard will throw off his balance and screw w/ his golf swing. At the very least, it will screw w/ his psyche.
Fear the beard!
The Beard is in control. Glover is merely the host body.
Nope. He needs the beard. After all, hockey playoffs are going on!
If he grows a half beard, then he shall win.
No - FEAR THE BEARD!!!
Can he yes, will he..... probably not.
No, bc he isn't playing as well as others are this year.
No. He lost his mojo.
Bryan K says:
The beard was creating a physical sensation in his backswing that unilaterally allowed him to find his sweet spot. Therefore, it is my assertion that the lack of facial hair will contribute to a sub-par showing for Mr. Glover.
No. The beard completed him.
Won the US Open without so I say yes.
No, Johnson Wagner started winning more with the 'stache.
No beard = no win
I think he can. He just needs to remove hair from opposing locations on his body to counterbalance.
