The Best Golf Towels
By Torleif Sorenson on 1/30/14
A couple weeks ago, we took to the forums to ask you about your favorite golf towels. You have spoken — and now we bring you the top three responses:

  1. Club Glove Premium Microfiber Towel

    Club Glove USA
    800.736.4568
    Starting at US$ 19.95

Club Glove has become known for their excellent soft-sided golf travel cases, but this tour-sized (17 x 40-inch) microfiber towel is also popular with tour caddies, in part because it actually has a center slit for fitting over club heads. The waffle-texture towels are advertised as being able to hold 300% of its weight in water, but the microfiber cloth is gentle enough to clean eyeglasses and is virtually lint-free.

The Club Glove Microfiber Towel is available in at least 14 color combinations, as well as in a USA flag pattern. For gift-giving and corporate branding purposes, custom embroidery and personalization are also available.

  2. Greens Towel

    GreensTowel.com
    877.666.5221
    Starting at US$ 4.99

The Greens Towel serves an important niche — golfers looking for a high-quality microfiber towel at a lower price point. A single 15 x 15-inch towel (small enough to fit in a pocket) costs only $4.99, but packages of three, six, 12, 24, 48, and 72 towels are available, with eight basic colors to choose from.

Personalization, screen-printing, and custom embroidery are also available, so if you're hosting or organizing a large golf event and want to give a strong-quality towel to your participants, the Greens Towel stands as a useful and affordable option.

  3. Frogger Amphibian

    Frogger Golf
    800.718.3764
    Starting at US$ 29.95

This clever towel is reversable, meaning that in dry, sunny weather, you can keep the interior of the towel wet, with a dry exterior. In rainy conditions, the towel acts like an umbrella, so that the exterior absorbs all the rain, while the waterproof interior membrane of the towel stays dry, for keeping your grips and your hands dry. And instead of a cheap, spring-action clip, the Frogger Amphibian attaches to your bag with a carabiner.

At 28 x 14 inches, it is roughly twice the size of a standard golf towel. The 100% bamboo terry cloth is naturally anti-fungal and anti-microbial, while being environmentally responsible. Woven jacquard cotton serves as the towel's exterior. The Frogger Amphibian is available in four colors: Black/white, blue/black, orange/black, and pink/white.

And on top of it all, the towel has a monumentally cool product name.

Quick question. Of those of you who have a $20+ golf towel. What do you dry off with when you get out of the shower and how much does it cost?

I loved the Goose Golf towel I won from oob until the little leather ring holding the clasp broke so I can't hook it to my bag anymore.

My golf towel is embroidered with NNI YADILOH. I don't know what that means , but the price was right.

Falcon, just make sure to keep it away from a forensic black light.

Yes Jason, I use a 20 dollar Club Glove Microfiber Tour Towel for my clubs. In fact I have four of them and rotate as needed changing them every couple rounds. Your point about which bath towel I use is well taken. My guess is that my bath towel is cheaper. And I probably wash it less than my golf towels. Goes to show you that my Titleist kids are more important to me than I am. Nothing but the best for my kids! ;-)

We have a lost and found box at all of our courses.Mostly towels, head covers and occasionally glasses.Clubs are turned in to the pro shop. After a week anything left anyone can have . I have three wonderful towels from that collection. One from Ojai C C, one from the Old Course at St. Andrews and one that lists all seven of our courses in my community. Call me cheap but they work wonderfully well.
