Bill Haas Named To Presidents Cup
By mustang6560 on 9/28/11
U.S. Team Captain Fred Couples and International Team Captain Greg Norman officially announced their captain's picks last night so now everything is set for the start of the 2011 Presidents Cup.
Less than seven weeks from the start of competition at The Presidents Cup 2011, the final four players for the event were determined today as U.S. Team Captain Fred Couples and International Team Captain Greg Norman each announced their captain's picks via teleconference. Couples selected Bill Haas and Tiger Woods, and Norman chose Australians Robert Allenby and Aaron Baddeley. We've known for several weeks now that Freddie committed one of his two captain's picks to Tiger Woods, so we were only really waiting for him to announce his second captain's pick, which he used on Bill Haas. Personally, I think he made the right decision by picking Bill. Besides being one of my favorite golfers, he has experience on his side as he's been on the PGA Tour for five years now and he's been playing great golf over the past two years. The North Carolina native won twice last year and most recently he won the Tour Championship AND the FedExCup. Not a bad resume if you ask me!
The two notable players who were left off the team were Keegan Bradley and Brandt Snedeker. Either player would have been a fine selection, but neither player in my opinion had a stronger resume than Bill. They were all on fairly equal ground--Keegan probably had the edge because he won the PGA Championship--until Bill Haas cemented his spot on the team with his incredible win last week at East Lake.

cant wait for this!
He reminds me of Sling Blade.
mmmhhhmm fried taters mhmmh
PGA champions are automatically invited to play in the other three majors (Masters, U.S. Open, and the Open Championship) for the next five years, and are exempt from qualifying for the PGA Championship for life. They also receive membership on the PGA and European Tours for the following five seasons and invitations to The Players Championship for five years.
But no President's Club. Bradley has been cut by a sharp - and recent - sling blade.
Loking forward to the Presidents Cup. Got my tickets.
