Rory McIlroy Injures Wrist

By now, I'm sure you've heard Rory McIlroy injured his wrist during the first round of the PGA Championship at the Atlanta Athletic Club.
On the par 4 third hole, Rory hit an errant tee shot that came to rest on the root of a tree. Both David Feherty and Peter Kostis tried to warn Rory through telekinesis that he was going to hurt his wrist if he caught the root with his follow through. I'm not sure if that qualifies as a jinx or just good commentating, but sure enough, Rory hit the root and injured his wrist.
For the next few shots, it looked like Rory was going to withdraw because he winced after every shot. Most of the people who seemed to voice their opinion about Rors wrist wanted him to withdraw and save himself from potentially making his injury worse. But Rory decided the pain was tolerable and proceeded to finish his round. He was given ice immediately to help prevent swelling and he eventually taped it. Currently, he's one-under thru 16 holes with a bum wrist. I bet Tiger Woods and Ryo Ishikawa feel pretty bad about their rounds.
My question is, if Rory McIlroy wins the PGA Championship with a bum wrist, would it be as impressive as Tiger Woods' win on a bum knee at the '08 U.S. Open?

Well done Rory, finishing the round and finishing well. An mri is in the cards apparently.
Probably not.Woods leg was broken I believe right?
I'd take Hogans win at Marion over Tiger. But if rory pulls this off it's gotta be at the top.
There was no way he wasn't going to hurt his wrist on that shot. He was about an inch from the root. No way to miss it. IT was probably the dumbest thing he could have done that early in the match. Now - it could be argued that he didn't do bad after hurting his wrist, or that he may have actually done better, but the point is there was nothing on the line to warrant that shot. Sunday - ok, but the first round? Chip it sideways, on in 3 and healthy. He wasn't thinking.
Maybe Jay Townsend's twitter was correct about Rory and his caddie not using correct course management
@toothid - i'm with you. As a caddy, at that point you HAVE to speak up. At least about the root being so close and get the player to actually talk through his "plan" which i think in this case would have led to a sideways chip out.
@toothid ++ Even if he was looking for an excuse to see his new friend in the afternoon.
Your Tiger question is the exact one I asked yesterday.
