Tiger Woods Signs With Rolex
By mustang6560 on 10/6/11
Tiger Woods, the brand, is slowly recovering from the devastating collapse it suffered two Thanksgivings ago. In the wake of his sex scandal, the majority of companies who endorsed the former world number one either reduced his visibility OR dropped him all together.
But, it seems like the tide has finally turned and the endorsements are starting to come back. In June, Tiger announced a new endorsement deal with a Japanese heat rub and yesterday, Tiger announced on his website that he entered a partnership with Rolex.
Tiger Woods is joining the family of Rolex ambassadors, who are chosen for their talent, their perseverance and their ability to communicate their passion for their sport. They include emerging young champions as well as established top male and female golfers.Mark Steinberg, Tiger's long time agent (and friend), told GolfWeek that it's only a matter of time before the endorsements return to pre-scandal levels. The fact Rolex, one of the top (if not THE top) luxury watch brands in the world, signed a deal with Tiger should be a clear indication that enough time has passed since Tiger's fall from grace and it's officially safe to align with him again.
Not to discount his top 5 finishes at the 2010 Masters, 2010 U.S. Open or 2011 Masters, but since November of 2009, Tiger has been a non factor for many reasons (health issues, swing changes, etc). However, for some reason, it seems like it's all about to change. Maybe Tiger falling outside the top 50 for the first time in 778 weeks reset something in the cosmos.
At any rate, it seems like Tiger's start in the Frys.com Open is the start of a new beginning. A lot of you picked Tiger to win, and I'm right there with you.

I think Timex's slogan would be more appropriate for Tiger's last couple years.
America loves comeback stories. I almost look at Tiger as an Underdog these days. A super wealthy underdog. Hopefully he can pull it together and post a nice finish at the Frys.com open. I will be watching.
from Tag Hauer to Rolex. not a bad upgrade...
Steinberg just doing a little PR because that's how he makes his $$, but he knows if Woods can't get back on the winning wagon, those endorsements won't be the same as before.
Gosh, I sure am relieved to learn that the cosmos have been reset, I wasn't even aware that it was in need of resetting. I'm always excited by the start of a new beginning too.

If this is the interest for #51, where is the interest for #1??
