Showdown: Webb Simpson vs. Luke Donald
By mustang6560 on 10/13/11
The McGladrey Classic is underway in Sea Island, Georgia, and while most players are fighting for an one year exemption on the PGA Tour, Webb Simpson is after the coveted five year exemption.
Webb finished the regular season $68,972 back of Luke Donald on the PGA Tour money list and he is out for blood this week at the McGladrey because the player in first place on the money list at the end of the season earns a five year exemption. He currently holds a three year exemption, but golf is a funny game, so instead of going quietly into the history books in second place, Webb decided to try and lock up the additional two years of exemption. In order to pass Luke, Webb needs to finish in the top 15 and he's off to a good start. He currently holds a two stroke lead at seven under par on the Seaside Course.
His decision to add the McGladrey to his calendar now has Luke eyeing a return to the PGA Tour to defend his position. In a perfect world, Luke would get to see the result of the tournament before having to make a decision to fly back to the U.S.A. to play, but he only has until 5:00 PM EST tomorrow to commit to next week's tournament.

HELL YEAH THATS WHAT I CALL EXCITEMENT
Beef, you're the best. I nominate Ben Crane for the Most Boring Golfer award.
What if there is a tie on the money list? Do they each get 2.5 years? Is there a 1 hole playoff? Do they go into the octagon and settle it like men?
Web Simpson got a bad case of White mans overbite. Every photo I seen of him is that same face.
