Sergio Garcia Wins Andalucia Masters

Sergio Garcia is the new Tiger Woods. The 31-year-old outlasted fellow countryman Miguel Angel Jimenez to win for the second week in a row at the Andalucia Masters.
“I’m out of words,” said Garcia. “It’s been two amazing weeks. Miguel fought so hard and had some good chances coming in, 17 for eagle and 18 for birdie.Last week, Sergio won the Castello Masters on his home course by an impressive 11 strokes. Winning back to back, dominating one and winning down the stretch in the other - it sounds very Tigerish, doesn't it? The two wins in Spain propelled Sergio into the top 20 in the Official World Golf Ranking, earned him a spot in the WGC-HSBC Champions in Shanghai this week and put him a top the European Ryder Cup points race. Not a bad couple of weeks if you ask me.
I'm happy to see Sergio return to form. The Spaniard is immensely talented but he's struggled as of late to find the passion to play golf. About a year ago, he even took a brief sabbatical from the game to play soccer with CF Borriol, a team that he partially owns. But, Sergio can't take all the credit for his recent wins. Part of his new found confidence is related to his new relationship with a nice Welsh woman.
Now, if he can just win a major...

Watched the ending of this tourney. Good stuff. Jimenez really should've made that putt on 18--left it short, right in the jaws. But he was super cool about it and gave Garcia a big hug at the end. And Miguel's fairway wood approach over the water on 17 was pretty heroic, one of the best shots I've seen in a while, he should feel good about that. Good to see Garcia fired up and really into it. Personality wise I have some issues with that guy but man, he puts some kind of strike on the ball--you can really hear it.
I am glad that Sergio is back where he belongs.
I just can't stand that it takes him "gettin' some" to play well.
