Van Pelt, McIlroy Win in Asia

Before Sergio Garcia's final putt dropped to win the Andalucia Masters in Spain, Bo Van Pelt and Rory McIlroy made it happen in the eastern hemisphere. I didn't get a chance to watch either tournament, but from the highlights, it looked like both tournaments provided very different, but equally exciting finishes.
In Malaysia, Bo ran away from the field at the CIMB Asia Pacific Classic. The Indiana native closed with a bogey free seven-under par 64 to win for the first time since 2009.
"I've had a couple of chances to win this year, but didn't come out on top," Van Pelt said. "Canada was a tough pill to swallow. I just wanted to learn from that and do a better job when I had the lead. I take a lot of satisfaction in how I played today."In nearby China, Rory fended off Anthony Kim in a sudden death playoff to win at the Shanghai Masters. Rory held a three stroke lead heading into the final round but was forced to rally late after a less than stellar start at the Jack Nicklaus designed Masters Course at Lake Malaren.
"It's something that I feel like I can still get better at is winning and putting yourself in the position to win when you're not playing your best," McIlroy said.As the golf world likes to point out, Rory collected the richest prize in golf for winning the Shanghai Masters - a cool $2 million. But, the tournament is not officially sanctioned by a major tour so he didn't make up any ground on Luke Donald in the European Tour's Race to Dubai.
The stage is set for the start of the WGC-HSBC Champions in Shanghai this weekend at the Sheshan International Golf Club. World number one Luke Donald officially withdrew from the tournament to be with his wife as she gives birth to the couples second child, but the rest of the world's best golfers will be in attendance.

@Banker85- No. He did not qualify for the tournament. Here's that explains the qualifying process.
SO happy for Bo - can't find a nicer guy on tour!!!
I think $2 million always counts............where in matters, in your pocket!
where it matters, that is
