John Daly Leads Qatar Masters
By mustang6560 on 2/3/12
Um, I think there is something wrong with the European Tour's website because it has John Daly's name on top of the leaderboard for the Commercialbank Qatar Masters.
Wait, what? You're telling me it's not a glitch?
OK, well let me refresh the page a few more times just to make sure.
So, yea, apparently the leaderboard is correct and JD is sitting pretty in the desert.
Kidding aside, the second round of the Qatar Masters was suspended earlier today due to wind gusts of up to 45mph, but not before first round leader Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano bogeyed two of his first seven holes to fall behind John, who opened the tournament with a 5-under par 65. Luckily for John, he had an afternoon tee time so he didn't have to battle the high winds.
Since the sponsors were not interested in a Monday finish, the tournament was cut to 54-holes so now JD has a realistic chance to win a legitimate tournament for the first time since 2004. And he didn't have to do any extra work today!
