It's Masters Week!
By mustang6560 on 4/2/12
To be honest, I was only slightly interested in the Shell Houston Open last weekend.
Can you blame me?
The SHO is the Christmas Eve of golf tournaments. The anticipation of Christmas Eve is nice and all, but everyone longs for the action of Christmas Day, which is of course the Masters. It’s not very often you hear someone say, “My favorite day of the year is Christmas Eve.”
I don’t want to take anything away from Hunter Mahan’s second victory of the 2012 PGA Tour season, but it was hard not to look past the action from South Texas to the action of East Georgia. It was a warmer than normal winter in many places so many golf seasons started earlier than expected, but golf season doesn't officially start until the Masters.
The field is officially set for the 76th edition of the Masters and for the first time since 1994, Ernie Els is not on the invite list. The Big Easy failed to qualify for the Masters on his own so his only hopes was to receive an special invitation but the committee at Augusta National did not oblige. There's always next year Ernie!
Anyway, I hope you are as excited about the Masters week as I am. It's going to be a great week!

Just need to find a micro-HDMI to DVI/VGA cable, so I can connect my phone to my monitor at work.
@mjaber: Or just take thursday and friday off like I am!!! I didn't watch one minute of the SHO.
Fine coverage of the Shell Houston Open, thanks.
no mention of who won the first segment of the fantasy league? does anyone still care about that anymore?
