TaylorMade popularized the white driver.
Cobra is trying to popularize the orange driver. Ping hopes to popularize the pink driver. And Callaway, well, it wants to popularize all of the above driver colors and more. Golfers can now go to callawaygolf.com/udesign and create a customized Callaway RAZR Fit driver, choosing from one of four lofts and eight colors.I suddenly feel as though my driver, with its traditional black crown, is no longer adequate. PSYCHE. I am only in my mid-20s, but I am very much a golf traditionalist. I think it's cool for golfers like Bubba Watson, Hunter Mahan and Rickie Fowler to express their individuality with bright colors, however, you won't see me with a pink or orange driver any time soon. read more Did I miss something? White drivers are okay, but inevitably black will make a comeback and people will be all "Wow, the black color really makes it easy to line up the face!". 4/11/12

I actually like the new Cleveland classic looking driver, I was hoping that would usher in some classic looking equipment...  badcaddy says:black crowns weren't always the norm. my first driver and metal woods were just plain polished raw steel, like the new Cobra Amp driver. 4/12/12
